About us
Public service is a noble calling: to help others, to make our communities stronger, and to uphold the public trust. As city employees, we see the results of our hard work in our own community— in street and infrastructure improvements, new buildings rising from the ground, safer and more prosperous neighborhoods, and happier, healthier children, families, and senior citizens. We may all come from different backgrounds, but we are connected through our passion for service. What we do at work today, and everyday, shapes the Boston of tomorrow. Join us! The City of Boston is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Therefore, qualified applicants will be considered regardless of their sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, military and veteran status, or other protected category.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 💼🌇 This summer, we welcomed a dynamic group of undergraduate and graduate students to City government through the Summer Internship Program (SIP). These future public servants contributed to different departments and offices, working on projects related to housing, education, equity, communications, language access, and more. From creating tools that improve language access for residents, to supporting youth literacy, sustainability, and civic engagement, they made a real impact—and gained firsthand experience in what it means to serve with purpose. 💡 Want to see what they worked on? 🔗 Explore intern profiles, highlights, and program details here: boston.gov/internships And if you're thinking “How do I become part of this?”—you're in luck. 📣 Applications for Summer 2026 will open next year. My friends at the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Housing are looking for an Associate Director for Supportive Housing. I hear it is a position that will play a major leadership role in Boston's effort to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-repeating. We work closely with the team there, so I hope folks will consider bringing their expertise to help this effort. Thanks to Daniel Lesser for letting me know about it. https://lnkd.in/emBYurm7
