The Richmond Times-Dispatch has officially vacated its longtime downtown property once home to hundreds of newsroom employees. Earlier this summer, the Virginia Department of Social Services stepped in to backfill the space, ensuring the building remains active. While the publication has fallen to a similar fate as other media outlets across the country who have left their namesake properties, Asif Bhavnagri, VP of Business Investment for the City of Richmond Economic Development, says the city is in far better shape in terms of its real estate as well as a burgeoning media scene.
