Congratulations to the Aquatics Professional of the Year – Cydne Pope!    Cydne’s dedication, leadership, and passion for aquatics have made a tremendous impact — not just within the CPRA Aquatics Section and the City of Wheat Ridge Aquatics and Parks & Recreation teams, but throughout the entire community she serves.   From strengthening industry networks to creating innovative aquatic events that bring people together, Cydne’s work is a shining example of what community-focused recreation can achieve. Her efforts have deepened connections to aquatic spaces and built lasting community engagement.   We are incredibly lucky to have her leading the way. We are proud to share that Cole Haselip, Senior Management Analyst with the City of Wheat Ridge, has been named a 2025 Tranter-Leong Fellow by the ICMA - International City/County Management Association! As part of this award, Cole will travel to Australia and New Zealand to participate in a rich exchange of ideas and practices, with host communities such as the Horowhenua District Council and Queenstown Lake District Council in New Zealand, and Georges River Council in Australia. Great job, Cole!

We are proud to share that Wheat Ridge City Manager Patrick Goff has been appointed to the Family Tree Board of Directors. Patrick has dedicated more than 23 years to the City of Wheat Ridge, serving as City Manager since 2010 and leading city operations, strategic initiatives, and community partnerships. His thoughtful leadership has earned national and statewide recognition, and now he will bring that experience to Family Tree, an organization dedicated to addressing child abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness. Sara Heisdorffer revitalized our Aquatics Department, building a dream team, enhancing safety, and preparing for the future of Anderson Pool. Staff Spotlight: Meet Beth June! Beth has been with Wheat Ridge Parks & Rec for 23 years, bringing joy to the community through events like the Holiday Celebration, Egg Hunt, and Performances in the Park. She also leads volunteer efforts that keep programs like Tree Stewards and the Active Adult Center thriving.
