Over the past five years, Cleveland-Cliffs has contributed more than $3 million to organizations dedicated to fighting hunger. This year, our employees once again rose to the challenge and collected 415,000 pounds of non-perishable food items during our 2025 Souper Bowl Drive. This impressive collection of non-perishable food collected represents a 25% increase over last year’s donation, which will provide thousands of meals to those in need. The food items were distributed to 44 local food banks and pantries serving 45 communities where employees work and live. In addition to the donations from employees, The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation distributed $250,000 to food banks serving our communities to further support those in need. Below are just a few of the donations collected across our operations.

Cleveland-Cliffs announced plans to establish a new electrical distribution transformer production plant in Weirton, West Virginia. Lourenco Goncalves, Cleveland-Cliffs' Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer hosted a press conference with West Virginia Governor Jim Justice and other elected officials in Weirton. The press conference highlighted Cleveland-Cliffs’ investment to repurpose its Half Moon Warehouse in Weirton to commence production of three-phase distribution transformers used in electric power distribution systems. This investment will result in reemployment opportunities for 600 USW-represented workers from the indefinitely idled Weirton tinplate mill. The new plant will also generate additional demand for American-made Grain Oriented Electrical Steel (GOES) produced at Cleveland-Cliffs’ Butler Works steel mill in Butler, Pennsylvania, as well as for Cleveland-Cliffs’ stainless and carbon steel products used in the manufacturing of distribution transformers.
