cMoe was recently awarded grant funding from the United Way of Southwestern Indiana through their Thriving Next Gen Pathways to Potential Initiative✨ This funding will go toward a partnership with Glenwood Leadership Academy to execute three programs designed to foster critical thinking and development — the Pre-K Early Learners Academy, focused field trips for grades K-5, and after school enrichment for grades 3-5 focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) and Entrepreneurship. Congratulations to our Thriving Next Gen grant recipients! These 8 nonprofit organizations were selected because they demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with schools to foster strong school engagement in K-12 students - specifically building healthy relationships at school, practicing productive learning habits, and promoting positive attitudes about the value of education towards students’ futures. 🔍 Here are the details on how $1.68 million was divided between the recipients. 🚌 Southern Indiana Mentoring Academy (SIMA 100) - $267,400 for expansion of their mentoring program 🚌 Immigrant Welcome and Resource Center - $255,080.70 to support English Language Learner students 🚌 Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville (cMoe) - $236,480.30 for partnership programs with Glenwood Leadership Academy 🚌 The Potters Wheel - $250,000 to support social and educational intervention at Bosse High School and its feeder schools 🚌 SIRS, Southern Indiana Resource Solutions - $135,424 to support a resource navigator for students with disabilities attending Spencer County middle and high schools 🚌 YWCA Evansville - $200,000 for the Live Y'ers afterschool program and mentoring program 🚌 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana - $186,620 for expansion of high school students as mentors program 🚌 Dream Center Evansville - $150,000 for student success coaches at Delaware Elementary, North Junior, and North Senior High School
