We urge #Illinois lawmakers to pass the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability (CRGA) Act. This legislation responds to the urgent need to address the skyrocketing costs of electricity for consumers and businesses. If the CRGA Act passes, it would deliver $34 billion in savings to ratepayers over the next 20 years and provide a critical solution to reverse record-breaking annual energy price increases. 🌞 Yesterday, Minnesota policymakers and regulators had the opportunity to see community solar in action with site visits to SunShare's Buffalo Sun garden in Plato and Cooperative Energy Futures' Eden Prairie Community Center garden. CCSA’s Senior Manager of Markets & Research, Nick Bowman, joined the tours, which showcased how community solar is delivering real benefits across the state. 🔹 At the Eden Prairie site, Mayor Ron Case, Ed.D highlighted the impact of community solar on the local community. 🔹 At Buffalo Sun, Dean Engelmann shared how agrivoltaics allow his working farm and solar array to thrive together. Both projects, each about 1 MW-AC, are part of Minnesota’s new LMI Community Solar Garden program, launched in 2024 to expand access for low- and moderate-income households. Special thanks to Representatives Patty Acomb, Jamie Long, Bobbie Harder and Senator Alice Mann for joining these events! Events like these underscore why community solar is a powerful tool for energy affordability, local resilience, and sustainable land use. #CommunitySolar #CleanEnergy #Agrivoltaics #Minnesota

Coalition for Community Solar Access reposted this
Last week, we welcomed Ohio solar leaders to our Cincinnati office to showcase the strength of our manufacturing operations and the positive impact solar is having across the state. We were proud to host members of the Coalition for Community Solar Access, Solar United Neighbors, Nexamp, and the Hispanic Chamber of Cincinnati for conversations on how to work together to support House Bill 303, a step toward establishing a community energy program in Ohio. As one of 83 solar manufacturers in the state, Terrasmart is driving growth by adding new equipment, skilled jobs, and partnerships across Ohio. By purchasing steel in Cleveland, Toledo, and Mansfield and collaborating with suppliers and service providers in Columbus, Youngstown, and beyond, we’re proud to fuel a supply chain that supports local communities. With solar already supporting 7,788 jobs and powering over 724,000 Ohio homes, we look forward to working with local leaders to expand opportunity and strengthen Ohio’s energy independence. #Terrasmart #Ohio #OhioSolar #RenewableEnergy #Solar #PoweringProgress #SolarManufacturing #SolarEnergy #CommunitySolar

States all around the country are dealing with sky-high electricity prices. As spelled out in this op-ed from the @Chicago Tribune Editorial Board, the topic of energy prices is front-of-mind for all ratepayers - and states like Illinois should take a leadership role in an all-of-the-above energy approach to resolve the issue. Utilizing all #DG capabilities will be essential for states to combat skyrocketing energy demand in the short- and long-term. Read more: https://bit.ly/46Kaknb

#CommunitySolar and storage are one stepping stone towards a larger vision for energy democracy in #California, where local communities own and govern their clean energy resources. Yet, three years after passing AB 2316, Californians are still waiting for a program. Why? Despite growing urgency and available funding, the California Public Utilities Commission has so far failed to deliver a viable program that supports the widespread adoption of community-centered clean energy—especially for the state’s most vulnerable residents. New legislation has been introduced in #Wisconsin that would create a #CommunitySolar program, returning power to the people by giving local municipalities and towns control over siting and approval for solar projects in their jurisdictions. Wisconsin is a net importer of energy and currently has some of the most expensive energy costs in the Midwest. By creating more competition in the market, community solar will expand energy options, keep utility spending in check, and drive down high energy prices. Check out highlights from this week's announcement below. ☀️ https://lnkd.in/eSPhnpJw
