Environmental public health professionals specializing in air quality have the appropriate education and training needed to support local air quality impacts and protect human health. These professionals understand the impact that systems and social and structural inequities can have on climate change and air quality. They're uniquely qualified to respond because of their in-depth knowledge of the relationship between air pollution, health, and the environment. Your local EH professional isn't just doing a job - they're protecting your family's ability to breathe safely. Let's celebrate them today, and on Sept. 26, by sharing this post with the caption: "Clean Air, Healthy People." #WEHD2025 #cleanair

On World Environmental Health Day, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting public health through policies, practices, and the tireless work of environmental public health professionals everywhere. These professionals work at the core of our communities, ensuring that the food we eat is safe, the water we drink is clean, the air we breathe is healthy, and our communities are prepared for emergencies. Read NEHA’s full declaration and join us in celebrating the people behind this vital work on the official day: Sept. 26, 2025

At NEHA, we don't just recognize these food safety heroes - we actively support them year-round through certification programs, e-learning courses, policy advocacy, and professional development opportunities. Because when we strengthen the food safety workforce, we strengthen public health for everyone. Let's celebrate the people who make safe food possible! #NFSEM
