We're kicking off the school year with some exciting news for Celina ISD parents and students! 📚 🎒 A new partnership launching this fall is bringing Cook Children’s pediatric expertise directly to Celina ISD campuses. This school year, Celina ISD students enrolled in Cook Children's School Based Virtual Health program will benefit from: ● Real-time video visits with a certified nurse practitioner through the school nurse's office. ● Quick diagnosis and treatment for common illnesses like fevers, earaches, sore throats, and more – reducing classroom disruptions and parent work absences. ● Easy follow-up with your child's primary care physician, and your preferred pharmacy for prescriptions. This collaboration makes it easier than ever for students to get the care they need, right at school. Learn how to sign up at https://lnkd.in/gY9uhRHd.

🦋A New Beginning Takes Flight🦋 For two decades, Fort Worth's Las Vegas Trail (LVT) community faced significant challenges: limited access to healthcare, nutritious food, and safe spaces. The area's decline, particularly since Carswell Air Force Base closed in 1993, left the neighborhood vulnerable. Today, a profound shift is underway. The new neighborhood health center in Las Vegas Trail has opened, a major milestone. It's more than a clinic; it's a comprehensive health hub, forged through an unprecedented partnership between JPS Health Network, Cook Children’s Health Care System, the City of Fort Worth, LVTRise, and WestAid. This collaboration connects residents with vital services, from medical care and food security to personal safety and financial stability. Inspired by the resilient monarch butterfly migrating through this area, the center's design and mission embody hope and transformation. As Mayor Mattie Parker shared, "This project represents a major strategic investment...a groundbreaking model for comprehensive community care." This initiative exemplifies the "butterfly effect." It began with LVTRise's dedicated efforts in 2018, a grassroots movement leading to the RISE Community Center in 2020, and now this health center. Councilman Michael D. Crain emphasized, "We cannot allow another generation to slip deeper into poverty. The neighborhood health center is a critical step in improving their present and protecting their future." This vision was largely shaped by the community itself, outlined in the Las Vegas Trail Neighborhood Transformation Plan. The center's strength lies in its integrated approach. Cook Children’s provides pediatric, behavioral health, and nutrition education. JPS Health Network offers family medicine, women’s health, and more. For the first time, these two institutions partner in a single facility. On-site services include the WestAid Food Pantry, a demonstration kitchen for cooking classes, Tarrant County College's workforce development programs, and a new Fort Worth Police Department Storefront. This holistic model addresses residents' multifaceted needs, many of whom rely on public health insurance or lack coverage. This innovative hub will transform access to care for thousands of children and families. As Karen Love, President of Cook Children’s Health Plan, noted, "For so long, this area has been a health care desert... The investment of bringing that care close to them is what I’m most excited about." To celebrate, the center kicks off 30 Days of Wellness on August 6th, offering a month of activities, health screenings, and workshops.
