We thought it was time to spread some positivity and cuteness this week, so we’re kicking off our Culper Cuties: Pet Edition! Meet Phoenix, a 7½-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (aka Toller), who’s equal parts athlete, rule enforcer, and peanut butter connoisseur. This handsome boy is always up for an adventure, hiking, agility, swimming, Frisbee, or fetch (especially fetch). His Chuck-It ball is basically his most prized possession, and he’s convinced it should be a 24/7 game. Phoenix takes rules very seriously (someone has to keep the other dogs in line) but beneath that disciplined exterior is one of the sweetest, most loyal companions around. He’s also a bit of a celebrity, having competed in agility competitions across the country, including multiple trips to Jacksonville, FL for the UKI US Open. This November will mark his fourth year competing there!

We had a fantastic evening as our president, Brooks Schilling , joined the panel to share his journey from government civilian to small business owner. It was an inspiring night filled with meaningful connections, career insights, and community, everything mentorship is meant to be.

With Halloween creeping up, we figured everyone could use a little mid-week nonsense to break up the routine! So, let’s settle this once and for all…What is the worst Halloween candy of all time?  -Are you team No Candy Corn, those waxy little sugar triangles that taste suspiciously like candle and regret? -Or team No Peanut Butter Kiss, those orange-and-black taffy blobs that somehow make peanut butter sad? -OR maybe you’ve got another candy that deserves the crown for Most Disappointing treat in the bag. Someone once said, “Hawai‘i isn’t a place, it’s a feeling.” We have a sneaky suspicion our small #culpercrew team felt plenty of relaxation and joy on their weeklong work trip to paradise. Talk about a crew that works hard and plays hard! From beach outings and luaus to unexpected bison sightings, shave ice with boba, yummy cocktails, delicious meals (yes, bison included!) and even diving into Hawai‘i’s incredible history, they made the most of every moment. And the cherry on top (or should we say the boba on top)? A tiny bit of rain couldn’t stop the #culpercrew from having an amazing time at our second annual Fall Festival at Gaver Farm! From pumpkins and sunflowers to corn mazes, hayrides, apple cider donuts (so good!), and even an agility course, this place had it all! We were extra lucky to top it all off by celebrating one of our #culpercuties’ birthdays! (sash and cupcakes included) Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it, we’re so fortunate to share these moments with such an incredible team and their families. #culpercrew #culperculture #fallfun #stayawaybees

Special thank you to NiSUS Technologies Corporation for hosting Tenpins for Teal in support of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. What an incredible night supporting such an important cause. Bowling, laser tag, skee-ball, arcade games, delicious food, and great company, this event had it all. Sure, there may have been some laser tag let down and a couple (actually just one) bowling scores that brought down the team average … but the fun (and the impact) was unbeatable. Events like this matter most because they make a difference in people’s lives.
