Significant announcement from the FDA - The FDA just released their roadmap for reducing and eventually replacing animal testing in preclinical efficacy and safety assessment [of antibody therapies initially] with alternative platforms like in vitro organoids and AI computational approaches. The momentum has been building for years with the development of innovative animal-alternative technologies that recreate human biology, validating datasets that correlate human drug responses, bipartisan governmental efforts such as the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 (and 3.0) and industry incumbents and VCs investing into the area. This plan finally aligns these vectors. The Cypre Inc. 3D in vitro tumor platform delivers standardized datasets of efficacy and MOA in 6-9 weeks. Cypre 3D tumor models include human cells of the tumor microenvironment (tumor, fibroblasts, and immune) in a proprietary ECM hydrogel and 96-well plate format. PDX-derived cell lines are supplied by Charles River Laboratories.
