  • “Irradiation” and “remediation” sound scary, yet most items in your trolley are safely sterilised long before you buy them. Our new blog cuts through the noise with plain-English facts. Inside the post: - E-beam vs gamma: both validated; different physics, risks and use-cases. - Dose done right: low, validated doses protect safety and quality. - The disclosure gap: Choosing “non-irradiated” doesn’t mean non-remediated. Products may still undergo various processes, however these steps are often not disclosed. - Cannabis reality: EU Ph. Eur. limits are tight; prevention first, validated remediation when needed. If you care about patient safety and product integrity, this is for you. https://lnkd.in/ewhNGkyn #MedicalCannabis #Transparency

  • We’re proud to support our Chief Communications Officer, Matthew Clifton, who’s strapping on his trainers for another fundraiser this November, running 50 miles for the I am Billy Foundation. The Foundation champions patient-first access grounded in evidence, supporting clinical trials and real-world data so the NHS can make informed decisions about cannabis-based medicines. If you’re able to support, Matt’s JustGiving page is here: https://lnkd.in/eGq3pyru Thank you for backing Matt and the I Am Billy Foundation. #IAmBilly #Fundraising #UKHealthcare #EvidenceBased #MedicalCannabis #EUGMP

I know November is, quite rightly, Movember, supporting brilliant causes like prostate and testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Sadly, puberty gave me a polite nod and carried on, making the moustache challenge… unrealistic. So instead, I’m running 50 miles throughout November (yes, in British weather) for the I am Billy foundation, backing proper science and patient-first access to cannabis-based medicines. Sponsor a pound a mile (or anything)? Every bit helps. https://lnkd.in/ekirNUdz

A big thank you to Global for the fantastic coverage across LBC, Capital FM, and Smooth FM this weekend, as well as on the LBC website. In just 4 minutes and 24 seconds, these segments manage to cover: 🎙️ Demand on the UK medical cannabis supply chain. 📊 Figures on public awareness (or lack thereof), including that 57% of people in the Midlands favour improved access. 🧪 Investment from the Department of Health into clinical trials 👩⚕️ NHS perspectives 🧑🤝🧑 Real patient stories that remind us why this work matters If you have a few minutes to spare, it’s well worth a listen; a balanced, insightful look at a topic that too often flies under the radar despite being available on prescription since 2018. We’re grateful to see these conversations reaching such a wide audience. Awareness is the first step toward progress.

  • We were very pleased to see LBC’s recent coverage of the medicinal cannabis industry, including an inside look at our facility. A huge thank you to the team at LBC and, most importantly, to the patient who shared their experience so openly; stories like theirs are at the heart of why this matters. One of the biggest challenges we face is awareness. Even now, many people still don’t realise that medical cannabis has been legally available on prescription in the UK since November 2018. Coverage like this helps break down stigma and makes patients, clinicians, and the wider public aware that this is a serious, regulated medicine prescribed by specialists under strict frameworks. It was also fantastic to see the Department of Health and Social Care announce over £8.5m in funding for two world-first clinical trials into cannabis-based medicinal products. High-quality clinical evidence is essential for wider NHS adoption and patient access and this funding represents a major step forward. At Dalgety, we believe that transparency, compliance, and robust science are the foundations for a responsible and sustainable medical cannabis industry in the UK. It’s encouraging to see steps being taken that can help shape a more evidence-led future for this medicine. https://lnkd.in/gFm6Fp7b

  • This weekend was a big one for us as we strapped on our hiking boots for two concurrent events raising money for the MedCan Family Foundation , supporting families navigating childhood epilepsy and medical cannabis access. 💚 In Bakewell, the main event saw the team take on a challenging 15k hike through the stunning Derbyshire countryside. Meanwhile, down in Kent, Matt and his son tackled their own 20k satellite event a little closer to home. It was fantastic to be part of the same mission, even miles apart, with our teams walking (and by the end, hobbling!) towards one shared goal: supporting the families who need it most. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, or cheered us on. Your generosity helps the Medcan Family Foundation continue its essential work, giving children and families hope, support, and access to life-changing care. We’re thrilled to share that we surpassed our target, raising almost £1,300! And yes… we’re already planning our next charity event. 👟

  • TODAY IS THE DAY The Dalgety team are walking 15k in the Derbyshire Dales to support the families whose lives have been transformed by medical cannabis. Every step we take is for the children and families who fought so hard to make this treatment available in the UK. You can help make a real difference today. Donate to support families in need and honour Hannah Deacon’s courage and legacy. https://lnkd.in/eRQMqTET The Dalgety Team

If every single follower donated just £1 we would smash our target today. We are already 90 percent of the way there and this Sunday the Dalgety team will take on a 15k hike in the Derbyshire Dales in support of MedCan and the families they help. This walk is inspired by Hannah Deacon. She fought tirelessly for children with epilepsy and changed the law in the UK. Her courage and passing have inspired us to take on this challenge and continue her work. Your £1 today can help us cross the line and make a real difference. If you cannot donate please share this post so we can reach more people and finish together. The Dalgety Team https://lnkd.in/eRQMqTET

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: The Pioneers of Medical Cannabis Cannabis has been used as medicine for thousands of years, long before the last two centuries of scientific breakthroughs began shaping the modern medical cannabis industry. Figures like Sir William Brooke O’Shaughnessy (introducing cannabis to Western medicine in the 1830s), Professor Raphael Mechoulam (isolating THC & CBD in the 1960s), Allyn Howlett & William Devane (discovering cannabinoid receptors), and extraction pioneers D. Gold & JD “Graywolf” Ellis paved the way for the research, regulation, and patient care we see today. At Dalgety, we know this list barely scratches the surface. Who else would you include among the giants of medical cannabis? • Harvest day might feel like the finish line… but it’s really where the big decisions begin. Do you go fast to lock in freshness, or slow to build complexity and smoothness? How much flavour are you willing to lose for speed? And does new tech like freeze-drying change the game, or does tradition still have the upper hand? There’s no simple answer. Every choice shapes the character of the final medicine in ways most people never see. We’ve unpacked the science and the trade-offs in our latest blog.
