Wings took off. 🧂🧺🍗 Powered by Compass, Datasembly’s Shelf Shakers Category Report spotlights the biggest movers at retail in pricing, promotion, and assortment. Last week’s standouts? Major shifts in Seasoning Mixes, Powdered Detergent, and Chicken Wings 🍗🧂🧺 Here’s the breakdown: 💲 Pricing Leader: Seasoning Mixes Price activity was heating up in the spice aisle. Safeway raised list prices on McCormick across 4.2% of distribution points, while Giant Eagle made an even bigger jump at 19.3%. On the flip side, Walmart took a different approach, dropping Bettergoods’ average list price by 5.2% week-over-week. 🏷 Promotions Leader: Powdered Detergent Laundry deals got a shake-up too. Walmart scaled back discounts, reducing depth of discount by 8% for Gain and 10.4% for Arm & Hammer. Meanwhile, ShopRite went the opposite direction—boosting the percentage of Ariel products on promotion by a massive 98.3%. 🛒 Assortment Leader: Chicken Wings In prepared foods, wings are on the list. Walmart ramped up distribution of its Freshness Guaranteed line by 84% over the past quarter, while Safeway increased distribution of Readymeals by 2.5%.
