We are delighted that two of our projects, Boulder Fire Station #3 and the Steamboat Springs Fire Station #1, received Honor Awards at the national Fire Industry Education Resource Organization (F.I.E.R.O.) Station Design Conference, which celebrates excellence in fire and emergency facility design. Additionally, Station #3 was awarded a 2025 Best Project Award in the Government/Public Building category from Engineering News-Record (ENR). The award recognizes the project’s sustainability features, design, and construction. Congratulations to our partners at both Cities on these acknowledgements. Davis Partnership Architects was proud to support the The Susan E. Stanton Foundation, continuing her legacy through mentoring and providing scholarships for aspiring young women in commercial real estate. It was a great night of connecting and raising money. Thanks to Dena Wyatt, Stacy Stout, FSMPS, CPSM, and all the others who serve on the Board of this great organization.

Recently, our office had the opportunity to take a tour of the new Aurora Mental Health and Recovery Center, a Davis project currently under construction. The Aurora Mental Health and Recovery Center is a new psychiatric facility that includes walk-in crisis, crisis stabilization, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, medication-assisted treatment, and connect to care. The building itself is over 47,000 sq ft and includes a brick, metal panel, and EIFS exterior. The first floor consists of all outpatient treatment areas while the second-floor houses both of the inpatient functions including crisis stabilization and SUD treatment. The third floor of the building is entirely a staff space including the break area, large staff deck, and conference room. Construction on this impressive project commenced in 2024 and is on track to be completed by the end of this year. We are thrilled to witness this project come to life! 🏗️

Our team recently rolled up their sleeves with Habitat for Humanity for a volunteer day sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and the impact was inspiring. The team of Nick Molter, Benjamin Hanlon, Jonathan Fertig, Karen Hailey, Jonathan Libman, Kelsey Myron-Karels, Josh Perrin, and Owen Railey helped install a new fence and gate, demolish and replace a window unit, and refresh siding and trim. No Revit license required. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any technical knowledge required. As per Nick Molter, “While demolishing the window it was discovered that there was no lintel on the existing brick and a good portion of the wall almost came down when tearing out the frame. Thankfully the team acted fast and was able to create a new support and install the new window unit after a little custom shearing (totally not voiding any sort of warranty).” We’re proud of our team for putting their skills and energy toward housing our neighbors and supporting the community. 🛠️

Located at W. Tennessee Ave and Santa Fe Drive, Broadway Station- Block G has new life after a larger version wasn’t financially feasible. Now only 8 stories and 367 units, the building is the first of two adjacent sites to be developed, with both sites fronting a public plaza. A recently completed pedestrian bridge over the rail tracks to the east will connect visitors to the plaza, retail, and live/work programming on site. A simple design parti of interlocking bars orients views west to the mountains while establishing a strategy for exterior material allocations. GID has high expectations for quality, and so DPA architecture, landscape design, and interior design will continue to refine the overall concept and adapt concepts from the previous design iterations as we to bring this idea to life.
