A recent article featuring Dr. Mihran Naljayan, MD, MHA, FASN, FNKF, DaVita's Chief Medical Officer of Home Modalities and Pediatrics underscores a powerful solution for improving pediatric kidney care—offer more provider training and team-based education to boost home dialysis uptake and outcomes. By enhancing education and exposure to home modalities, especially early in a physician’s training, we can shift the mindset and better support families,” said Dr. Naljayan. 👩⚕️ Better-informed care teams 🏡 More home dialysis options for kids 📈 Improved outcomes, lower burden on families Read on for more insights in Healio: https://lnkd.in/e97HeafN #HealthcareInnovation #HealthcareIndustry #KidneyCare

At DaVita Kidney Care, caring is at the heart of our unwavering pursuit of a healthier tomorrow. Our annual Community Care report highlights meaningful milestones in our continued commitment to corporate citizenship. Last year, our teammates committed to their communities by logging over 59,000 volunteer hours, bringing their total hours for the last five years to nearly 150,000! But our commitment to our community didn’t stop there. In 2024, we powered 100% of U.S. operations with renewable energy, saved 75 million gallons of water, and helped 8,200+ patients receive a kidney transplant — our highest number yet! From supporting in the delivery of kidney-friendly meals to patients facing food insecurity through the Food is Medicine Coalition, supported 433,000+ individuals with kidney education in partnership with the American Diabetes Association and so much more, our dedication to our patients last year meant improving health access across the globe in whatever way we can. The pursuit of value-based kidney care at scale wouldn’t be possible without advocacy and support from the nephrology community. This week on the DaVita Newsroom, Dr. Gregory Spin and Dr. Michael O’Shea share reflections on growth in VBC and the value to patients. Dr. Spin is a participant in the current CMS program, Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting (CKCC). "Fundamentally, when our patients do better, the cost of their care is reduced; when the cost of care is reduced, there are more resources available. Both, patients and the providers do even better — and the cycle can continue." — Dr. Gregory Spin, Summit Nephrology Check out the latest Q&A on the DaVita Kidney Care Newsroom: https://lnkd.in/e2XCwbGe #Nephswholead #CKCC #HealthcareInnovation

DaVita Kidney Care reposted this
Today, DaVita Kidney Care hosted our annual Hospital Services Group Summit. The HSG team is near and dear to my heart--its where I spent 4 years helping to lead and execute on clinical strategy for the hospitals we support and the patients we serve. Today, I had the pleasure of discussing cellular therapies, including the work we are doing in CRISPR and CAR-T. While traditionally the work our acute hospital-based teammates do centers around supporting patients so that they can get well, CRISPR and CAR-T truly offer cures--real solutions to combat certain cancers and genetic diseases, like #SickleCellAnemia. As part of this discussion, I got to spend time interviewing Jimi Olaghere--one of the first patients to successfully undergo this treatment for sickle disease. Jimi is equal parts resilient, inspiring, and forthright about the opportunities and obstacles that exist with cellular therapies. Jimi let us in to his heart and his journey as he shared his story and talked about the change in his life and what that change has meant to his family. What an inspiration! https://lnkd.in/gMpxNdTJ
