Congratulations to Keith Reinhard, Chairman Emeritus, DDB Worldwide, on being inducted into the AMA New York Marketing Hall of Fame, honored in the Mentorship category. Keith doesn’t just inspire. He believes in people. He believes in ideas. Above all, his passion for advertising reminds us why the best work always comes from the heart. As he once wrote: “What other profession invites one to experiment every day with new combinations of words and pictures and ideas, all with the purpose of making people's lives easier or better or more enjoyable... and the best part, you get to do all this in concert with the most interesting and stimulating people you can imagine.” That’s Keith. Few have shaped advertising like Keith Reinhard. Yesterday, I had the honor to introduce him as he was inducted into the AMA New York Marketing Hall of Fame. Keith is a true architect of modern advertising. A creative, a builder, a mentor, and—above all—a deeply principled human. It’s not every day you get to celebrate someone whose influence is undeniable with jingles we all know by heart and campaigns that have shaped culture. Keith once said that “advertising is about ideas that move people.” Well, Keith’s ideas have moved billions of people. Yesterday, we didn’t just induct him into a Hall of Fame. We thanked him. For the break we all deserved... and the inspiration he still gives us. DM9 tapped into one of Brazil’s most beloved memories to launch KFC’s ice cream, the excitement of finding a prize on an ice cream stick. Instead of hiding the prize on a wooden stick, they put it where no one expected: on a real chicken bone. 🍗 This twist created an impactful experience, rooted in the "Prize on the stick" promos of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. It unlocked nostalgia, brought back a feeling that sparked real joy, and significantly grew brand love. That is the emotional advantage. The work has been featured in ADWEEK’s Cannes Predictions.
