*Please note that we do not accept requests for legal assistance or counseling appointments through this page. Please contact our Intake and Referral Line at (617) 661-1010 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.* De Novo provides free civil legal assistance and affordable psychological counseling to low-income people. Our services combat the effects of poverty and violence by helping clients and their children meet basic human needs for safety, income, health and housing. De Novo draws on the expertise of 140 dedicated volunteer attorneys, clinical social workers, psychologists, paralegals, interpreters, student interns, and other professionals to provide cost-effective services that serve our community’s most vulnerable members. We provide legal help in the areas of housing/homelessness prevention, child custody and domestic violence, immigrant and refugee rights, and disability benefits, as well as a full range of mental health and case management services to help clients cope with the emotional impact of trauma. Our holistic model of care means clients not only receive effective legal assistance, but also supportive therapy to help them navigate the enormous struggles they face. Learn more at denovo.org.

✨March spotlight organization incoming!✨ For our Mass Pro Bono March spotlight, we are highlighting pro bono opportunities with the De Novo Center for Justice and Healing! De Novo provides legal help in the areas of housing and homelessness prevention, family law/domestic violence, immigration law, and disability benefits, as well as a full range of mental health services and case management to help clients cope with the emotional impact of trauma. De Novo has a range of pro bono cases available, from very basic to complex. Volunteers may handle all or part of a case, depending on their availability, expertise, and interests. At De Novo’s monthly immigration clinic and family law clinic, volunteer attorneys provide brief advice, screen for legal needs, and refer to additional legal resources. Join De Novo and other members of the Cambridge Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) for Coffee with a Cause: Conversations for Sexual Violence Awareness on April 22nd, from 11:30am-1:30pm at Dado Tea, and on April 25th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Lovestruck Books. Patrons will have the opportunity to learn more about support services and what community members can do to support survivors and end violence. The SART is comprised of local community organizations and law enforcement members who collaborate to spread awareness about sexual violence and improve the services a survivor receives after an assault. Pictured on the second slide are representatives from Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers, Victim Rights Law Center, and the Disabled Person's Protection Commission, in addition to De Novo, at Mariposa Bakery in Cambridge on April 17th.

Tony has served on De Novo's board of directors in various roles, including as Board President.
