Artist Devin Wilde first got his hands on clay at just two years old, shaping miniature figures from oven-bake polymer. Today, that sense of curiosity lives on his Brooklyn studio, where he hand-sculpts ceramic vessels and tables inspired by the ornamental geometry of Art Deco architecture in NYC. The result: functional forms with sculptural presence. “I like to think of them as usable art,” Wilde says. Our 22nd annual Champagne Chair Contest™, in partnership with Champage Pommery, is in full swing. Craft a mini modern chair using a champagne cork or two – and enter for your chance to win up to $2,000 in prizes. This year, we’re introducing a new prize: Most Original Craftsmanship, judged by esteemed architect and founder of Rockwell Group, David Rockwell. For each entry, MillerKnoll Foundation will donate $50 (up to $20,000 total) to our non-profit partner, Cork Collective, an initiative dedicated to upcycling used corks into eco-friendly products – including neighborhood playground surfaces – benefitting communities nationwide. Here’s how to enter: 1. All entries must be an original design crafted from cork. The foil, cap, cage, and label from one or two bottles of bubbly can be used as additional materials. 2. Take a photo of your chair using a sheet of white paper as your background. 3. Post a photo of your chair to Instagram using #dwrchampagnechair, and follow and tag @designwithinreach. Or email your photo to us at socialmedia@dwr.com by February 20, 2026. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Ends 02/20/2026. See Official Rules at the link in our bio. U.S. and D.C. only. 21+. Wallpaper* writer Anna Solomon checked in with artist Devin Wilde – named one of the magazine's USA 400 – to learn more about his creative process, and how he creates such distinctly saturated hues for what he calls "usable art." From his Brooklyn studio, Wilde sculpts ceramic vessels and tables inspired by architecture, rooted in form, proportion, and structural logic. His collection is now available in a DWR-exclusive palette that draws from ancient armor and midcentury modern aesthetics. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eF6mkHQC

The debut of Devin Wilde's architecturally inspired ceramics called for a celebration at our SoHo store in NYC. There were cocktails, vessels filled with flowers by Kelly Burke Studio, bites by Emma Leigh Macdonald and gel nyc’s gelatin rendition of Wilde's Table No. II in delicious, bite-sized form. From his Brooklyn studio, ceramic artist Devin Wilde sculpts tables and vessels by hand, start to finish. Years of material intelligence – understanding how clay dries, how glazes react, and how to account for their quirks – allows him to create ornate pieces that are richly saturated and structurally sound. “Glazes are like people,” Wilde says. “Each one has its own way that it likes to be handled. With clay, it’s similar. Between totally wet and totally dry, there are these tiny slivers on the spectrum. Understanding each stage and when you can do each step in the process takes thousands of hours with the material, especially at the scale we’re working at, with those dainty little feet.” Learn more about Wilde’s DWR-exclusive collection: https://lnkd.in/eiWmZf6T

Introducing Devin Wilde Ceramics, a collection of richly glazed tables and vessels, exclusively at DWR. A trained architect, Wilde finds inspiration in long walks through NYC, drawing from distinctive brickwork, arches, and finials on buildings that catch his eye. “The emphasis on repetitive geometric detail is a huge part of Art Deco architecture – and a huge part of my design style,” he says. With an ever-observant eye, designer Hlynur Atlason reimagines the familiar, paring back excess while introducing new modes of comfort. “I don’t see furniture as an exercise in form alone, but as a response to the way we actually live right now.” Designed for DWR, his new Atlason Composed Modular Sofa is in sync with modern life: evenings in, easy gatherings, and everything in between. “It’s not just form – it’s a stage for living,” he says.
