Our Battery Show Reception at The Beacon was a success! Co-hosted by Gresham Smith, the event featured an engaging panel discussion on battery technology and innovation and a surprise guest -- Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Industry leaders came together to connect, share insights, and celebrate the continued growth of the Detroit Region’s EV and mobility ecosystem. It was a great way to wrap up an exciting week at The Battery Show!

Last week, our Business Development Manager, Colton Dale, traveled to Toronto for the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show! He went with Emerson Krolewski, Economic Development Specialist at Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development, to connect with companies across the Greater Toronto Area and discuss new investment opportunities. During the trip, Colton engaged with new prospects and existing partners to highlight the Detroit Region’s strengths in advanced manufacturing and technology. Amid the echoes of economic uncertainty, we continue to build strong relationships with Canadian manufacturers and remain focused on fostering partnerships and advancing proactive attraction efforts, reinforcing Michigan and Ontario’s long-standing collaboration in manufacturing growth.

We’re proud to welcome Geotab’s U.S. Engineering Center to the Detroit Region! Their investment reinforces Michigan’s position as a global hub for advanced manufacturing and mobility innovation. The Detroit Regional Partnership is excited to support companies like Geotab in growing their presence, creating high-quality jobs, and strengthening cross-border economic partnerships.

Michigan is leading the way in electric vehicle innovation! ⚡ The state is #1 for announced EV investments, and ranks #3 for EV jobs, making us poised for significant growth. The Detroit Regional Partnership hosted a roundtable discussion with a delegation from Quebec and leaders in the clean energy industry. Our Business Development Manager, Colton Dale, attended on behalf of DRP to engage in the discussion and foster collaboration. The group exchanged perspectives on bi-national collaboration and industrial innovation, reinforcing the importance of cross-border partnerships in advancing clean energy. We look forward to building on these discussions to advance clean energy in the 11-county Detroit Region.
