At Diamond Baseball Holdings, it takes a lot of incredible people behind the scenes to make our teams run the way they do. From game day operations to community engagement and creating unforgettable fan experiences, these individuals are the heartbeat of our ballparks and they deserve to be recognized.
We’re proud to kick off our new Behind the Diamond Employee Spotlight Series by featuring one of those difference-makers: Ashley Grotte, Assistant General Manager of the Harrisburg Senators.
Fifteen years ago, Ashley walked into the ballpark in Harrisburg, PA, and never looked back.
Though she officially became AGM in 2020, her journey with baseball began much earlier and has always been rooted in one simple goal: helping people fall in love with the sport , just like she did as a kid.
Her earliest baseball memories were made high in the stands at White Sox games, sitting next to her dad and brother, surrounded by friends, and soaking in everything that makes a ballpark feel magical. That feeling stuck with her and ultimately shaped her career.
Minor League Baseball, with its community-first spirit and up-close fan connections, became the perfect place to bring that magic to life for others.
Ashley’s favorite part of the job still revolves around those everyday moments that turn into memories: welcoming a family to their very first game, chatting with fans who brought their dog to Bark in the Park night, or just watching joy unfold in the stands.
But her connection runs deeper than game day. For Ashley, Central Pennsylvania isn’t just where she works, it’s home. She’s proud to be part of a team that strives to make a difference in the community and improve the experience, year after year.
A key moment in her growth came when she joined the inaugural DBH GM Academy—an opportunity to step away from the daily grind and connect with other leaders across the DBH network. The experience gave her fresh perspective on what it means to lead, to grow, and to shape the future of a team.
Ashley Grotte is a reminder that the right person, in the right ballpark, can leave a lasting mark, not just on a game, but on an entire community.
