We launched the Dice MCP Server. Here’s how to use it. If you’ve been seeing “MCP” everywhere but haven’t tested it out yet, this tool lets you connect your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) directly to Dice's tech job database. Once connected, you can use prompts like: • “Find senior backend roles in Denver that don’t require on-call.” • “Show me remote React roles posted this week.” • “Pull Python jobs with salary listed.” Read the step-by-step setup guide in our comments.

I had a great conversation with Paul Farnsworth on the Tech Connects podcast about how MCP servers are changing the game for tech job searches. We dug into the details of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how it is helping connect chatbots like Claude and ChatGPT to real-time jobs data from Dice. AI is fascinating and I love the progress that has been made with MCPs since they were first announced back in November 2024. I am passionate about this work because of how it is able to help job seekers find their next opportunity by moving beyond just helping with resume modification. With tools like the Dice MCP job seekers can now set up agentic workflows for morning job digests, market monitoring, and skills gap analysis. We are meeting candidates where they are and my hope is the Dice MCP and similar work continues to help connecting people to their next career opportunity. If you've ever typed "Python developer" into a job board, then retyped it as "Python engineer," then tried "software engineer Python"… you get it. Job search shouldn't be a guessing game. The Dice MCP Server connects your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) directly to our tech job database. Just describe what you want in plain language. "Find me senior backend roles in Denver that don't require on-call" → Done. Your job search, your rules. Read how it works by clicking the link in the comments!

2025 reshaped the tech skills market, and 2026 will prove it. The organizational shift from investing in AI to operationalizing AI caused significant structural changes during 2025, transforming roles and recalibrating how employers award premium pay. Employers began hiring professionals with broad skills for roles that control risk, cost, and outcomes, rather than those who specialize narrowly in a single technology. With that as a backdrop, here's a look at the skill groups and roles that gained (and lost) value during 2025 and are positioned to continue down the same path in 2026. What gained value in 2025: AI infrastructure skills (18-23% pay premiums), data and AI reliability engineering, security architecture designed into systems, and AI Ops converging DevOps and security. What lost value in 2025: Basic BI dashboard developers, SOC analysts (first-pass work automated), and manual QA testers. The takeaway? Organizations are eliminating roles where work is repeatable and decisions are rules-based, while rewarding professionals who can manage complex systems and own outcomes.
