We’re proud to have been part of transforming the former Sam’s Club in Louisville into Relish Food Hall + Pickleball — a vibrant new community hub blending play, food, and connection. This project is exactly the kind of dynamic, thoughtful reuse of space we love — where landscape design isn’t an afterthought, but a key player in telling the story, connecting people, and elevating experience. As the landscape design partner, Dig Studio helped reimagine the site with welcoming outdoor areas, seamless connections between pickleball and dining zones, and layers of texture and planting that bring warmth and human scale to this adaptive reuse. Together, they’ll explore how unexpected moments and design “mistakes” can spark delight and connection in our urban spaces. 🔹 Bill Vitek will present “From Setback to Comeback: Reviving an Urban Icon” on Fri, Oct 10 at 2 pm, alongside Andrew Iltis (Downtown Denver Partnership) and Adam Rice (Bluestem Landworks), sharing insights from the revitalization of a beloved downtown destination and the collaborative process behind its transformation. It was a privilege to stand among peers, see inspiring work, and celebrate the power of landscape architecture in our region. Last Friday, Dig Studio joined AZASLA in downtown Phoenix for Park(ing) Day 2025, an international event that reimagines parking spaces as vibrant public places. This year’s theme, “Micro Acts of Civil Joy,” celebrated small but meaningful disruptions that bring delight to common public spaces. Our take on the theme was “Color Your World,” inviting visitors to engage with colorful shade structures that added bright pops of color overhead, a collaborative mural painted by passing visitors, and vibrant plants generously donated by Civano Growers. #ParkingDay2025 #DigStudio #ASLAArizona #UrbanDesign #Phoenix #Reimagine
