This month, we're partnering with select stores to support earth-friendly regenerative organic agriculture! 🌳 We make a lot of soap — and HOW that soap is made makes all the difference. By sourcing Regenerative Organic Certified® oils for our soaps, we ensure our supply chain helps address climate change in a positive way. An easy way to do your part is to buy Regenerative Organic Certified® products, which ensures that the ingredients used meet a rigorous standard combining farmworker fairness, soil health, and animal welfare. Our customers know the problems with plastic. We do, too. Here are 5 ways we're minimizing plastic at Dr. Bronner's: 1. Policy changes: We advocate for plastic-reduction laws that build better recycling & composting infrastructure in California & nationwide, we believe in holding companies—ourselves included—responsible for the packaging we produce, and the environmental damage it inflicts. 2. Repurpose plastic headed for landfill: By pioneering 100% post-consumer-recycled (PCR) plastic bottles 10+ years ago, we turn old plastic bottles into new bottles to conserve virgin resources. 3. Minimize plastic packaging: Our paper Soap Refill Cartons are made with 86% less plastic than our 100% PCR bottles, and we reduce & eliminate plastic whenever possible. 4. Refill stations: We're piloting refill stations in California that allow customers to bring their own bottle and refill it with Dr. Bronner's soap. We hope to launch more refill stations in the future, too. 5. Smart design changes for recycling: By reducing the label size of our liquid soaps, and offering a 3.4 oz bottle as a travel size as an alternative to our 2oz bottle, we've increased the chances of our bottles getting recycled. This is in no way a comprehensive list of the ways we're addressing our plastic usage. For a deeper understanding of the depth & breath of our commitment to reducing plastic, read our full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/g8gZHbk9

If you could use some uplifting news this week, check out Humble Design—a nonprofit that turns houses into homes for previously unhoused people by furnishing their spaces for free. 🏡 ❤️ It's one thing to find housing to shelter people, but imagine walking into your home, and not having any furniture—no beds, no couch, not even silverware. That’s where Humble Design San Diego comes in. Before new tenants move in, a team of designers meets with the family to learn who they are: their personalities, likes, hobbies, favorite colors, etc. Then, in a matter of days, the nonprofit selects & pulls furnishings from a warehouse stacked with donated furniture, dishes, rugs, and games—and furnishes the home. Logistically, it's incredible. Emotionally, it’s something else entirely. Families walk into their homes, some never having had a place to call their own. Kids step into their bedrooms, and there are games in the closet, a desk for homework, and sheets on the bed in their favorite color. They have their own room, their own bed, their own space. It’s no wonder that 98% of the people who get the Humble Design treatment are still housed two years later, according to a study by the University of California San Diego. Having a place you're proud to invite guests to helps build community. Having a desk to do your homework at makes it easier to focus on your studies. Community and education can help break cycles of poverty. To support this incredible work, Dr. Bronner's is donating $25,000 to Humble Design, and we're making plans to volunteer in person in the coming months. Purpose Pledge "aims to answer two deep questions: What does it truly mean to be a 'purpose-led' business when it comes to philanthropy, labor and supply chain policies, climate strategy and other social issues? And what will it take for more companies to incorporate this ethos into day-to-day operations?" As Les Szabo, Chief Strategy & Impact Officer at Dr. Bronner’s, explains: “We like to think this is elite but not elitist. These are companies that take purpose very seriously. We’re really trying to define more clearly what purpose is and have appropriate ways, real, stake-in-the-ground criteria.” Read the full Trellis story here: https://lnkd.in/gQnkftfw

Last year, Dr. Bronner's generated about $209 million in net revenue. Our president, Michael Bronner, shares how we spent that money. Our 5-to-1 salary cap on executive pay is part of why we could give more than $8 million to charitable and activist projects last year. We just launched our 2025 All-One Report, which shows: how much money we donated and to which causes & organizations, how much progress we made toward our sustainability goals, and more behind-the-scenes data. David Bronner: “We need a culture here of prioritizing living wages for workers, and not these ridiculously inflated pay packages for executives.” Dr. Bronner's just launched our 2025 All-One Report, which shows: how much money we made last year, what we spent that money on, how much we donated and to which causes & organizations, how much progress we made toward our sustainability goals, and more behind-the-scenes data. Supporting wage equality & reasonable executive pay are one of the reasons Dr. Bronner's helped found the Purpose Pledge: 10 commitments purpose-led companies can make, including instituting a maximum 20:1 ration between the highest and lowest-paid employees, including all forms of annual cash compensation (salary, bonuses, commissions, etc). Great study and report showcasing consumer demand for responsibly sourced and packaged products, from groceries to personal care, clothing, and beyond. Interesting to see data on consumer familiarity of different labeling standards and clear need for more consumer education. Thank you for sharing, Rodale Institute!
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s influencing real buying decisions. A recent study conducted by MAGNA Global and IPG Mediabrands in collaboration with Rodale Institute reveals that 79% of shoppers consider sustainability before making a purchase, and 63% are willing to pay more for products with features like ethical sourcing or recyclable packaging. Whether it’s groceries, skincare, or clothing, eco-conscious consumers are driving change. Read the full study: https://lnkd.in/gEwBG3BC
