Successful Internship at DRDO | Advancing Robust AI Systems We are proud to share that six students from the B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science program at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara have successfully completed a research internship at the Scientific Analysis Group (SAG), DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. 🛡 Project Title: Design and Development of a Robustness Evaluation Tool for Deep Learning Models Under the mentorship of Mr. Mohammed Javed (SAG, DRDO), the team built a Streamlit-based GUI platform to evaluate deep learning models’ robustness against adversarial attacks a crucial step toward enhancing the security of AI systems used in national defense. 🔍 Key Technical Highlights: ✅ Modular backend integrated with IBM’s Adversarial Robustness Toolbox (ART) ✅ Implemented attacks: FGSM, DeepFool, SimBA, Square Attack ✅ Benchmarked on MNIST, CIFAR-100, GTSRB, and ImageNet ✅ Compared pretrained models (ResNet50, EfficientNet) using Top-1 Accuracy & Confidence degradation ✅ Real-time evaluation: clean vs adversarial inputs 📊 Robustness Metrics: 1-Prediction Stability (Accuracy): Based on unchanged top-1 predictions 2-Conditional Robustness (Confidence): Assesses model confidence degradation 👨💻 Interns: Abhishek Singh, Anurag Tiwari, Himanshu Singh, Kabeer Kumar, Sambhav Verma, Yeetraditya Dhadhiya. Privileged to have Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, #IAS, Secretary, Defence, Govt. of India at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) to address the Senior Civil Servants and Defence Forces Officers undergoing 10 month long #APPPA course on "Aatmanirbharta in Defence Sector" (Self-reliance in Defence). Needless to mention that the theme is highly relevant presently when we're going through so much turmoil as far as issues regarding Tariff, Technology transfer and turbulent border situation are concerned. The Role of Private Sector in India was discussed in promoting self-reliance in Defence Sector as also the need of greater involvement of Industry associations like FICCI and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this pious endeavour was also desired. The recent news of 02 budding Engineers from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus making 300 kmph Kamikaze #Drones from their hostel room and supplying to the India Army was also praised.
