AI opinions in cybersecurity follow a predictable emotional cycle. Skeptical at first, overly optimistic after initial success, then settling into cautious realism as limitations become clear. Alessio Faiella, Sr. Director of Security Engineering at ThoughtSpot, calls this the Dunning-Kruger effect applied to AI adoption. His mature perspective: AI should accelerate human processes, not replace human thinking entirely. The risk comes from "knowledge as a service" dependency where teams lose the pattern recognition skills that come from manually investigating thousands of alerts and false positives. We're honored to be named a finalist for Cyber Defense Magazine's Top InfoSec Innovators Awards 2025 in both the AI Security Solution and AI SOC Analyst categories. This validates what our customers know: AI SOC analysts transform security operations when designed to augment teams, not replace them. Congratulations to all finalists driving our industry forward. Thank you for spotlighting the teams working to give defenders the advantage. 🤝 #CyberSecurity #CyberDefense #AISOCAgent #SOC

Most AI SOC tools claim "integration" with your security stack. But connecting to a tool through an API isn't the same as knowing how to use it effectively. Seasoned analysts don't just pull logs. They query specific data schemas, cross-reference identity systems, and dig through EDR telemetry until they find answers that matter. At Dropzone AI, we train our AI SOC agents to operate tools the same way your analysts do. Before they touch a single alert, our agents: → Map your SIEM schema and catalog available data sources → Learn how your specific environment is wired together → Adapt to your unique deployment configurations During investigations, they ask the right questions: "Which accounts touched this endpoint before it was flagged?" "What processes spawned from this parent binary?" "Which users authenticated from this IP during the timeframe?" They pivot across your EDR, identity providers, and cloud security tools following the OSCAR methodology to ensure thorough, consistent analysis. This isn't about automating workflows. It's about creating trusted investigative partners who think and act like analysts. The difference shows up in your metrics: cleaner alerts, fewer escalations, faster MTTR. Our latest blog breaks down exactly how we train agents to master tool use. 👉 https://bit.ly/47MrMcg #SOC #CyberSecurity #AIAgents #SecurityOperations #ThreatDetection

Security controls aren't binary. They shift based on time. Stephen Fridakis, CISO in Residence at Cyderes, explains how the definition of "critical" changes completely across industries using an analogy: a script for Game of Thrones holds immense value the hour before it airs. The moment the episode releases, anyone can access it online for free. Financial reports follow the same pattern. Healthcare operates differently. The time component spans much longer. Controls that protect patient data don't flip from critical to irrelevant in a single moment. Stephen discovered this in moving from the UN to media to healthcare. Each industry required rethinking how data sensitivity evolves and when access restrictions should adjust accordingly. He frames it through what someone once told him: "The UN operations are the sun. IT and the CISO are the moon." Just like the moon does not shine by itself, instead reflecting the sun, security is never the star of the show. “We sit back, we reflect, we protect the mission,” Stephen tells Anne.
