Maximizing Data Utility, Minimizing Risk
About us
Duality's breakthrough innovative technologies eliminate the conflict between data protection and business growth and innovation. The Duality Data Analytics and AI platform is built upon advanced encryption methods, hardware technologies, and machine learning techniques that protect sensitive data while in use. Duality is the only multi-PET platform with the ability to combine various technologies to meet the unique needs of sensitive data operations. These guardrails streamline and enhance the data operations critical for data-driven insights and innovations by eliminating bulky, expensive, and limiting processes like data anonymization and tokenization. Traditional data protection methods prevent organizations from truly adopting and leveraging advanced models to their benefit, resulting in restrictive policies like "no sensitive data can be used for model training." With Duality, organizations can confidently customize 3rd party models on their own data without fear of data leaks. Model providers can scale model customization knowing that their proprietary model is never exposed to the customer, preventing competitive intelligence leaks. Financial institutions can turn their manual KYC requests into self-service operations, greatly enhancing the speed and success of these expensive requirements. The benefits of data protection guardrails span from efficiency gains, to unlocking previously inaccessible data, to slashing costs on high-security infrastructure.

AI is getting smarter and so are the laws, borders, and institutions that govern data. The next wave of AI innovation isn’t just about capability. It’s about control. From governments enforcing data localization, to enterprises ring-fencing customer data under HIPAA, GDPR, and the EU AI Act organizations are realizing that AI without sovereignty is risk. That’s why a new generation of privacy-first, sovereign AI architectures is emerging where models, data, and compute stay within trusted boundaries, yet still collaborate securely through technologies like Fully Homomorphic Encryption, Confidential Computing, and Federated Learning. The future of AI isn’t centralized. It’s securely distributed. Learn how Duality is enabling privacy-first, sovereign AI ecosystems https://hubs.ly/Q03Pf85J0

Larry Ellison is right: for enterprises, the moment AI goes beyond public data and can reason over private, domain-specific data, you unlock the true leverage. But that leap only pays off when you handle that data responsibly. https://lnkd.in/dkBCJfhT

A major milestone for secure data collaboration. UK's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, NHS England National Disease Registration Service, and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) have recognized the power of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) in enabling international health research, featuring a pioneering Duality-powered study that allowed US and UK researchers to analyze sensitive cancer data collaboratively, without sharing it. This project proves what’s possible when nations and institutions can work together responsibly accelerating discovery, maintaining compliance, and protecting patient privacy all at once. It’s not just about one study. It’s about a new model for cross-border data collaboration, where insights can move freely, but data never has to. Oracle’s announcement today highlights our collaboration to deliver privacy-first AI to government and defense enabling agencies to leverage the world’s most advanced AI infrastructure while maintaining full control of their data. Together with Oracle, we’re building AI that operates across clouds and jurisdictions without exposing sensitive data, a foundation for responsible, secure, and scalable innovation. And defense is just the beginning. The same need for data sovereignty with collaboration extends across finance, healthcare, and every AI-driven enterprise where data trust defines success. How ISVs Can Build Powerful AI Without Owning Sensitive Customer Data AI innovation used to be a technical race. Today, it’s also a legal and reputational balancing act. ISVs know the tension well: You need access to real customer data to make your models smarter but touching that data can trigger months of legal reviews, compliance hurdles, and exposure risk. Between GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act, data liability has become one of the biggest blockers to custom AI development. The result? Delayed launches, “good enough” models trained on synthetic data, and frustrated customers who want personalization but don’t want to give up privacy. But what if you could build and train AI models without ever seeing the raw data? https://lnkd.in/d5rt5-bC

Securing Healthcare Data for the Post-Quantum Future Healthcare organizations are generating and sharing more data than ever, from clinical research to AI diagnostics, but the cryptography protecting that data won’t last forever. As TechTarget notes, quantum computing will render today’s encryption obsolete, putting sensitive medical data, research IP, and even national-scale health systems at risk. Preparing now means adopting quantum-resistant and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) that protect data not just at rest or in transit, but in use, enabling secure analytics and AI without exposing patient information. The post-quantum era isn’t a distant scenario. It’s the next chapter in healthcare data protection, and it demands action today. https://lnkd.in/duDuZwar

Great to have the team together at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Office of Data Sharing (ODS) Third Annual Data Sharing Symposium on the topic of "How Data Advances the Impact of Cancer Research." Rare diseases like pediatric cancer demand collaboration across borders. Yet strict regulations, privacy concerns, and limited datasets often slow discovery to a crawl. That’s why we’re proud to share a case study where two leading medical organizations in the US and UK are leveraging Duality’s secure AI collaboration platform to analyze sensitive pediatric cancer data without ever moving or exposing patient data. Results achieved: - 450+ federated queries executed securely across institutions - Cross-border compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and UK DPIA approvals - Near real-time insights (compared to a 23-month centralized process) - Privacy preserved even for rare, low-sample cancers This pilot demonstrates how privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) from federated analytics to trusted execution environments and differential privacy are transforming what’s possible in collaborative research. The takeaway: Sensitive health data can stay protected and drive breakthroughs at the same time. We’re just at the beginning. The same approach can accelerate progress across global registries, precision medicine, and public health initiatives. Edward Choi Mark Sheppard Wesley Doebler Kurt R Rohloff
