Connecting local talent to local careers through collaborative workforce solutions.

About us

The Durham Workforce Development Board (DWDB) facilitates, plans, and coordinates workforce development resources to maximize the efforts of government, businesses, workforce partners, and education. Our mission is to set the direction for the "NCWorks: Connecting Talent to Jobs" system so that it is the best source for businesses to find top talent. DWDB offers workforce solutions for employers and individuals in Durham County. Through our services, businesses can access a wide variety of services and programs from free hiring events and recruitment assistance to programs that offer funds to mitigate the expense of training existing employees or potential hires. Through the NCWorks Durham Career Center, job seekers can access resources to help with their job search and with achieving their career aspirations. Through collaborative partnerships, the board is the local policy organization responsible for the planning, oversight, and coordination of workforce development initiatives that help support economic development in Durham and the region.
