We also presented two contributions from the East West Bank Foundation to the Pasadena Police and Fire Foundations in support of their ongoing community partnerships enhancing public safety and fire prevention. Sore quads, great cause! East West Bank associates proudly participated in the 32nd YMCA Stair Climb, along with 4,000 plus participants, scaling 75 stories at the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles, home to the tallest stairwell west of the Mississippi. Willis Zhang, AVP-GTP Senior Business Analyst Global Treasury & Payments Client Delivery, completed the climb at an extraordinary 15 minutes 41 seconds, followed closely by Larry Wong, FVP-Relationship Manager Commercial Real Estate Banking – SoCA, at 16 minutes 9 seconds. All proceeds from this event are invested directly in YMCA community programs, including youth sports fostering teamwork and teen programs cultivating future leaders. Go Team East West Bank!

Going pink for the cure! Team EWB, led by Irene Pi, SVP-Consumer & Business Banking Regional Manager and Angela C., SVP-Head of Houston Commercial Banking, proudly participated in our 2nd year supporting the fight against breast cancer through the Susan G. Komen foundation, joining over 8,000 Houstonians for this meaningful community event. The annual Race for the Cure brings communities together to raise awareness and critical funds to help those impacted by breast cancer. Our October art calendar feature is Lui Shou-kwan’s “Zen Painting” (1970). A respected theorist and author, Lui (1919-1975) was instrumental in the revitalization and continuance of the great tradition of Chinese ink painting. His works now reside in major collections worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the de Young Museum. Congratulations to this year’s inaugural World Prize honoree, our Chairman and CEO Dominic Ng, presented by the Los Angeles World Affairs Council (LAWAC). LAWAC recognized Dominic's leadership and vision in advancing innovation and cross-cultural understanding. The evening was hosted by Emmy Award–winning comedian and political commentator Larry Wilmore. A longtime patron of the arts, Dominic supported the event alongside Edythe Broad, co-founder of The Broad with her late husband Eli; Joanne Heyler, Founding Director and President of The Broad; and East West executives including COO Parker Shi, CFO Christopher Del Moral-Niles, CFA and East West Bancorp Board Members Lester Sussman and Mark Hutchins.
