Please consider joining or renewing your Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership. It is so important that we dietetic professionals work together as part of something bigger than ourselves!    My membership, from my student days at the University of Texas at Austin to serving as Speaker of the House of Delegates and now Academy Foundation Chair, has provided me with innumerable opportunities for professional growth.  I still remember how impressed I was with the nutrition research that was presented at my first FNCE in New Orleans as a student. Later, representing my Maine affiliate, I saw the remarkable member involvement at my first House of Delegates meeting pre-FNCE in Hawaii, and the excitement as we celebrated the Academy’s 100th anniversary in Chicago. Last year, at FNCE 2024 in Minneapolis, we unveiled our new five year strategic plan that supports nutrition research, advocacy and public policy, dietetics practice, and technology. My Academy membership is a vital part of a professional and personal journey I am proud to have travelled.
