Guided by faith and dedication, C-Port General Manager James Guidry has recently wrapped up a 29-year career with Chouest, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, resilience, and lasting relationships. James, a Lockport native who grew up in Cut Off, Louisiana, started his professional life at 17 years old as an Assistant Parts Manager at Tarpon Ford. From there, he joined the oil field as a Dispatcher for a major oil and gas company. From there, James moved on to a long career with Chouest. He started in January 1996 as the Assistant Manager of C-Port. Seven years later, James became the General Manager, a position he held until his recent retirement. Over the years, James loved the challenges that every day brought, and the people that came with those memories. “During this time, we have overcome many challenges,” said James. “I tip my hat to each current and former shorebase employee and support staff, as well as our trusted customers for the part they played in the success of C-Port and myself.” Since retiring, James has enjoyed his newfound time fishing, camping, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He has been married to his wife, Adrienne, for over 40 years. Together, they have three boys: Blake (a Project Manager for ECO), Bennett (a Contract Manager at C-Innovation), and Jean-Paul (an Operations Manager at C-Innovation). Adrienne also had a notable 17-year career with ECO, working in the HR department for 10 years and finishing as an Internal Auditor.
