📢 11 MONTHS IN 📢 The 11th month of the E=MCM (European Extended Mine Countermeasures) comes to an end with important achievements and milestones. 💭 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟭 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘=𝗠𝗖𝗠? 🚢 E=MCM partners participated at EURONAVAL 2024 having a first gathering to celebrate the project being awarded EDF funding and to announce the launch of activities. 💡 E=MCM had its first kick-off meeting in Brussels, in November 2024, where the Project Coordinator Alfredo Lamberti (Naval Group Belgium) and the consortium members presented vision, objectives and goals of the project to the representative of the European Commission and the MODs. 👥 E=MCM had its first General Assembly at the NAVAL GROUP BELGIUM premises in April 2025 to discuss the latest updates of the project activities and consolidate the next actions. ⚙️ The E=MCM consortium made continuous 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 to finalize the technical requirement specifications, the system requirements and propose project design. About us
The "European Extended Mine Countermeasures" (E=MCM) project is co-funded by the European Commission within the European Defence Fund (EDF) programme and it aims to design, prototype and demonstrate a single System of Systems with unmanned autonomous toolboxes and intelligent platforms for mine-counter measures (MCM) to address the threats of drifting, tethered and buried mines. The objectives are to deliver new MCM capabilities prototypes for industrialization in the EU, as well as to improve the Detection, Classification, Localisation, Identification and Neutralisation (DCLIN) of mines and extend the reach of MCM operations. This 36-months project is managed by the Directorate General for Defence, Industry and Space of the European Commission, and coordinated by NAVAL GROUP BELGIUM. ABOUT NAVAL GROUP BELGIUM ⬛🟨🟥 The E=MCM (European Extended Mine Countermeasures) project includes 21 partners from 11 Member States, and they all equally share an important role in the success and progress of the project. However, today we will present and dive into the first partner and coordinator of the project: 𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐋 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐆𝐈𝐔𝐌. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙪𝙢? 🏢 Naval Group Belgium is a subsidiary of NAVAL GROUP which was created in 2019 after the replacement Mine Countermeasures (rMCM) program was awarded to BELGIUM NAVAL & ROBOTICS, a NAVAL GROUP and Exail consortium. Naval Group Belgium focuses on developing an ecosystem of excellence and innovation in Belgium, right from R&D to services in the fields of mine countermeasures and naval cybersecurity. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙪𝙢’𝙨 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙀=𝙈𝘾𝙈? 🎯 Naval Group Belgium is the coordinator of the E=MCM project and it will lead and coordinate the project for its entire duration of three years.
