  • Pregnancy loss is personal. But it’s also professional. Myth❌: It’s rare. Reality✔️: 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss, and nearly every workplace is touched by it. Myth❌: Once someone’s back at work, they’re okay. Reality✔️: Returning doesn’t mean healing; it often means masking pain to keep going. Myth❌: The loss of a pregnancy or infant only affects the birthing parent. Reality✔️: It ripples across teams, families, and communities. Silence makes it harder. Myth❌: There’s nothing employers can do. Reality✔️: Simple steps like dedicated leave, leadership training, and acknowledgment can change everything. Myth❌: Support belongs at home. Reality✔️: People bring their whole selves to work, including their grief. This #PregnancyandInfantLossAwarenessMonth, let’s make sure compassion is built into workplace policies, and care is embedded in company culture. Head to the comments to share how a leader showed up for you during a hard time, or how you wish they had💭

What an energizing few days in Vegas⭐ From thought-provoking panels to hallway conversations that sparked new ideas, the team left @ITC with fresh energy and perspective for the work ahead. Here’s what stood out: There was plenty of buzz about AI (of every flavor) throughout the conference, but at the heart of it, it’s always about utilizing technology to improve the human experience at the end of the line: 1. Trust and transparency. Leaders emphasized that digital experiences only work when people feel guided, not left to figure it out alone. 2. Human + machine, not human or machine. Sessions for agents, brokers, and benefits leaders focused on augmentation: using automation to remove friction while preserving the compassion and accountability people expect. 3. From claims to care. The conversation is shifting from how fast you operate and provide payouts, to how well you support. The bar is getting higher. The question behind every AI and modernization roadmap or conversation panel was the same: Will this make life better for real people? That’s our north star. Technology should make the complex navigable, the bureaucratic humane, and the lonely less so. Coverage protects. Care transforms. That’s the standard we’re shaping together. It was truly inspiring to see so many leaders and innovators transforming this industry from the inside out, and driving meaningful change in a space that touches every part of life. At Empathy, we’re proud to be part of that movement— helping insurers, employers and financial institutions raise the bar from coverage to care. So much innovation, impact, and empathy ahead. 🚀

The FOMO was real this week, seemed the entire insurtech world was in Vegas...but CB Insights came through with their report on the space with this market map and, since it's one of my favorite things, I don't feel so bad ;) Innovation in an industry as embedded, as traditional, as regulated, as universal, and as, well, old as insurance is going to come from outside - these are the startups that are making it happen. I'm proud to know some of the founders and their companies listed here including Jane Tran of Sixfold, Ron Gura of Empathy, Hanna Wu of Amplify Life Insurance, Valkyrie Holmes of Faura and others. These founders and their teams are top notch, the future is bright here. What they are working on, the problems they are solving go further than the insurance business - because the industry touches every transaction, every ride (whether car, train or plane), every delivery (you can't have trucking without insurance), every business or home you enter...all your favorite things could not function without it. Looking forward to seeing them all soon and seeing everyone on this list and beyond change the world. Who are you following? Here's the full report - https://lnkd.in/enbpjPNb - let me know your takeaways and thoughts!

  • Every single week, about 2.6 million full-time U.S. employees on average miss work because of illness or injury. Behind that number are millions of people navigating uncertainty, stress, and recovery, and employers facing the heavy toll that absence takes on business productivity. Today, Empathy is proud to introduce our new product, Leave Support, to transform how people navigate time away from, and their return to, the workplace. Launching first through our collaboration with MetLife, Leave Support brings technology to the heart of recovery. By combining automated routines, smart reminders, and adaptive guidance with instant access to human care, Empathy helps employees heal with structure and purpose, rebuilding confidence and routine throughout their recovery. For employers, it means smoother transitions back to work, fewer disruptions, and a stronger foundation for wellbeing and productivity at scale. Leave Support represents the next step in Empathy’s mission to transform how people are supported through life’s toughest moments–from loss to legacy to leave. • 💜 #WorldMentalHealthDay is a reminder that healing doesn’t follow a timeline. After pregnancy loss, symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression can linger well beyond the first month, with many still feeling the effects many months later. Our research shows that the emotional toll often outlasts the physical recovery, underscoring how vital ongoing support and open conversation truly are.
