In operating environments where reliable power is critical, adherence to OEM guidelines is essential. But it’s not always enough. Real-world conditions often push equipment beyond design assumptions, and when that happens, reliability depends on more than just checklists. This article from Paul Andrews highlights the importance of combining standard #maintenance protocols with field-proven strategies to keep systems running when it matters most. The performance of our #microgrids depends on a strategic approach to maintenance, and Paul has helped put these concepts into action, so our operations run smoothly and the power stays on for our customers. The spotlight has quickly shifted to #datacenters in today’s energy landscape, and for good reason. From powering #AI to driving economic growth and drawing increasing attention from policymakers, data centers are now central to any conversation about power supply, #sustainability, and #digitaltransformation. The newly released “2025 State of the Infrastructure Industry” report from Infrastructure Masons offers a timely, in-depth look at the opportunities and challenges shaping our #digitalinfrastructure. The report outlines both the current state of the industry and what the future may hold, and we’re proud to note that Pete DiSanto contributed his insights to this important work. Here are a few key takeaways from this year’s report: ⚡️ Power is the new bottleneck – and the new frontier. Clean, reliable energy access is now the No. 1 factor in data center deployment. The report explores innovative siting strategies and the resurgence of natural gas. 🌐 AI is reshaping infrastructure at every level. With inference workloads projected to dominate by 2030, speed, density, and distributed sites will drive how and where we scale. 🏘️ Community perception is no longer a side issue; it’s mission critical. Responsible growth is grounded in trust and local impact. This report is more than a snapshot. It’s a blueprint for building smarter, cleaner energy supply with purpose. Reliable backup power fueled by natural gas doesn’t have to be a tradeoff for #ESG goals. It can be a catalyst. In his latest article, James Kelly challenges the outdated view that backup generation undermines #sustainability, and he makes a compelling case for natural gas systems as a smart, scalable, and ESG-aligned solution. Jim explains how onsite natural gas generation can be a strategic tool that helps facilities reduce peak load impact, supports resilience, and advances #cleanenergy without compromise. Read his article to find out how natural gas #resilinecy can make the connection between uptime and sustainability. https://bit.ly/3FotDZv #energytransition #gridreliability #microgrids #generators

The conversation around #datacenter power demand is becoming one of the most urgent topics in energy infrastructure. In his latest article, Pete DiSanto responds to a piece by Ivan Penn from the The New York Times that suggests utility customers could end up paying more to power new data center developments. Pete explains how the traditional power delivery model can no longer keep up with today’s speed-to-power requirements, and flexible, scalable solutions like behind-the-meter generation and hybrid approaches are moving from the margins to the mainstream. Give it a read if you’re interested in how we can modernize our energy systems to support growth in a smarter, more #resilient way. https://bit.ly/43gIDAG #digitalinfrastructure #microgrids #datacenterflexibility #cleanenergy

One year ago today, residents and businesses across the #Houston area were devastated by a powerful, fast-moving #derecho that struck the heart of the city. It was as destructive as it was unexpected, resulting in an estimated $1.2 billion in damages, leaving nearly 1 million without power, and causing the unfortunate loss of lives. But research suggests that derechos are happening much more frequently in areas of the country that have historically seen few, if any, of these violent storms. In April, Pennsylvania experienced a rare derecho with 90-mph winds, and derechos are becoming part of the weather patterns in the Deep South and Mid-Atlantic regions. As warmer springtime weather increases the chances of severe pop-up storms like derechos, are you prepared for the unexpected, long-duration outages that could quickly become a reality? #Resiliency is no longer optional for businesses and communities. During the days following last year’s derecho, our natural gas #microgrids provided the reliability our customers depend on: ⚡ More than 1,800 hours of coverage ⏳ Over 100 continuous hours at several sites 🗓️ 10 of our microgrids remained in operation for four days after the event The question isn’t if the next storm will hit; it’s when. The next one could be closer than you think, so make sure you won’t be left in the dark. See how Enchanted Rock’s #generators performed in some of the most extreme types of weather and learn how our onsite #powergeneration has delivered when it matters most. https://bit.ly/4gMb4LC #cleanenergy #gridsupport #hurricaneseason
