Heat pumps are having a moment, and our LA event gave them the main character energy they deserve. From the Topanga canyons to mid-century gems in La Habra, Quilt proved that climate tech can be both cutting-edge and camera-ready. The buzz was electric: creators showed up, the internet leaned in, and the hype was real. We’re making heat pumps smart and stylish — a total vibe shift for how we think about home comfort. Interested in Quilt for your Southern California home? None of this would have been possible without our incredible local partners, who brought our system to life in every space: Carter Services, Southland Industries, Thomson Air Conditioning, Popsicle Air, AIR COMFORT EXPERTS, and Air-Tro, Inc.

DERs are emerging as a core part of today’s grid strategy. As Pier LaFarge explains, utilities recognize them as one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to add capacity and improve reliability during a period of historic load growth. 👇

Low-carbon cement meets the AI boom! Sublime Cement® has made it into its first data center application, in a campus under construction by STACK Infrastructure in Prince William County, Virginia. At Sublime we prioritize gaining early, real-world customer validation with pilot projects that are representative of the infrastructure our cement will support at full-scale production. Given the surge in data center buildout, this project with STACK is especially exciting. Heatmap News recently (and aptly) noted how new clean technologies have a pivotal role to play in data center construction, from power transmission to—you guessed it—cement! Low-carbon Sublime Cement was poured in a high-traffic loading dock at the Virginia campus, and all performance tests received to date demonstrate that our material exceeded relevant standards. With loading docks enduring significant wear and stress, this will be an optimal location to demonstrate the superior durability of Sublime Cement relative to conventional, high-emitting portland cement. This deployment enables future use of Sublime Cement at STACK data centers, where our product will reduce embodied carbon without compromising performance. STACK currently has over 4.0 GW worth of capacity built or under development and another 7.0 GW in their pipeline, and is a proven, trusted partner for the world’s most innovative companies, designing, developing, and operating sustainable global digital infrastructure. This project was another example of the importance of collaboration across the entire construction industry value chain to accelerate adoption of clean, innovative materials. Vulcan Materials Company served as the ready-mix partner on the project and has been an important early collaborator of Sublime’s in concrete testing, given their expansive national footprint. Holder Construction is the general contractor on the project and was a founding member of our recently announced Distribution Channel Partner program. The concrete was placed and finished by Baker Construction, the largest specialty concrete contractor in the United States. Sublime and STACK’s pilot project is a microcosm of the surging demand for lower carbon construction materials from America’s data center industry. Sublime is well-positioned to reshore and modernize U.S. cement manufacturing to meet this demand and replace imports of cement and SCMs. Read the announcement here: https://lnkd.in/g4eJS79U Photo credit: STACK Infrastructure #KeepBuilding #lowcarboncement #datacenter #AI #sustainableconstruction #infrastructure #Americanmanufacturing

This article from Bisnow examines how massive #datacenter growth is pushing PJM Interconnection to its limits, prompting questions whether the largest US power grid can avoid blackouts. The article also makes it clear the problem isn’t related to #powergeneration alone; we also need to address policy and infrastructure planning. Pete DiSanto calls attention to a critical piece of the solution, noting that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission needs to accelerate interconnection reform and market modernization to create momentum. The article underscores the growing urgency for scaling flexible onsite generation that can respond fast, earn revenue, and relieve grid pressure, and it’s a significant opportunity for developers, utilities, and policymakers to rethink energy delivery.
