When an unexpected coal plant shutdown tested the Texas grid this past summer, solar, wind, and battery storage stepped up—keeping the lights on for millions of Texans. From January through June, solar and wind power supplied 40.2% of the electricity required by the ERCOT grid, which covers approximately 90% of Texas’s energy needs. This moment underscores how renewables, backed by advanced storage and digital optimization, have become the backbone of grid reliability. ENGIE is proud to help lead in this transformation. ENGIE is proud to deepen our collaboration with Meta through new Power Purchase Agreements, bringing our total renewable energy partnership to more than 1.3 gigawatts of clean energy capacity across Texas. The latest milestone is the 600 MW Swenson Ranch Solar Project in Stonewall County — ENGIE’s largest solar development to date. Expected to be operational in 2027, Swenson Ranch will: •Supply 100% of its output to support Meta’s U.S. data center operations •Create 350+ skilled construction jobs •Generate over $158 million in local tax revenue for the community  “Our objective is to bring reliable, cost-competitive power to the grid as rapidly as possible, and projects like Swenson demonstrate the importance of solar to meet the timely needs of our customers,” said Dave Carroll, CEO and Chief Renewables Officer, ENGIE North America.
