Whether it’s issues like the GRAS loophole allowing harmful additives in grocery store products, or highly addictive ultra-processed food (UPF) in our children’s schools, it’s obvious that American food policy needs a big change. EWG hosted a panel discussion on the state of food policy in America, and why we need to advocate for changes that will give our families a better shot at healthy living. Thank you for joining us, Jesse Gabriel, Nora LaTorre, and Dr. Ashley Gearhardt!

Environmental Working Group reposted this
My guest today is a fellow Midwesterner — my home turf — Matt Randolph, better known as Mr. Global. Matt shares thoughtful, well-informed insights on energy and policy with a massive following — over 900,000 on TikTok and more than 100,000 on YouTube. His audience is well earned. With more than 33 years of experience in the oil and gas industry — including running and owning his own oil company — Matt is a true expert in his field. What makes his perspective especially compelling is that while he’s an industry veteran, he’s also a believer in climate change and a proponent of renewable energy. I’ve learned a great deal from his content about how the energy industry really works, and I’m excited to explore where environmentalists like me get it right — and where we might get it wrong. We cover a lot in this conversation, and I can’t wait for you to hear it. https://lnkd.in/gkaYEfuD

California took a major step toward protecting maternal and fetal health. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the first law in the U.S. requiring prenatal vitamin manufacturers to test for and publicly disclose harmful heavy metals in their products. This legislation takes effect in 2027, and sets a precedent for stronger maternal health protections all over the nation. EWG is honored to have helped SB 646 get signed into law, and are grateful for its author – Sen. Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson – as well as our co sponsors: Unleaded Kids and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Region IX Read more: http://bit.ly/3KQy8yn #MaternalHealth #CALegislation #EWG

New peer-reviewed research from EWG shows a clear link: the fruits and vegetables you eat directly impact the pesticide levels in your body. Published in the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health, our study combined USDA pesticide residue data with CDC dietary surveys and urine biomonitoring to assess the relationship between diet and pesticide levels. Key findings: ➡️ Diet is a driver of pesticide exposure ➡️ People are exposed to complex mixtures of pesticides ➡️ Current monitoring captures only a fraction of this exposure The solution isn't to eat less produce, but to make more informed choices. Swipe to learn more about EWG’s methodology, the findings and how this study can be used to assess real-world exposures and safeguard vulnerable populations. Why does Farm Aid matter more than ever? Because our family farmers need and deserve a level playing field. That means supporting and advocating for the policies that truly sustain them: fair subsidies and essential worker protections. The festival may be over, but the fight for farmers continues. #FarmAid40 #FarmsOverFactories #EWG
