The next step toward Chattanooga’s quantum future. Since EPB first learned about quantum technology through an award-winning grid security project in 2016, we have wanted our customers to be among the first to benefit. How Chattanooga is shaping quantum Thinking about what’s next is critical to EPB’s mission of enhancing our community’s quality of life. We’ve been focusing on quantum technology to protect our local and national energy grids since 2016 with R&D 100 Award-winning work. Our community has a growing need for STEM professionals. One of the ways we help enrich Chattanooga’s talent pipeline is by offering real-world experience to students pursuing these fields. This year, we hosted intern Paul Allen from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Bachelor of Applied Science in IT and Cybersecurity. Working with Tucker Green, CISSP, EPB’s Manager of Information Systems Security, Paul gained on-the-job experience beyond the classroom and prepared him for his next role. Thanks to UTC for featuring EPB’s participation in this important program!
After 20+ years in logistics, Paul Allen took the leap into tech with help from UTC. Now he’s on track to graduate from our accelerated BAS-IT Cybersecurity program in August and start a new career in IT. Designed for career changers and nontraditional students already in the workforce, UTC’s one-year IT/cybersecurity program combines hands-on courses, expert faculty, and a built-in, paid internship. Paul is finishing up his internship with EPB's cybersecurity team—one of several local partners working with UTC to give students practical experience and build the region’s tech workforce. ✅ Get more info on our 1-year IT/cybersecurity degree program: https://lnkd.in/edwDbKYH 👉 Read Paul's full story here: https://lnkd.in/ei8Xx8xs

Schools out, but new air conditioning is in Chattanooga School for the Arts & Science (CSAS). The school is putting a $400,000 School Uplift grant to good use awarded by TVA EnergyRight® last year. During the break, school personnel has been installing all new a/c window units and lighting to create a cooler, more comfortable learning environment. Bonus: All of this work also means lower energy bills, so money saved can stay focused on learning. Congrats again to CSAS on their winning work. Our EPB Energy Pros are proud to support your work. We can't wait to hear what the students think when they return!

At EPB, we are committed to listening to our customers, which is why we launched a new online payment portal last year with new options including secure Pay-by-Text and the addition of American Express, PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay and Apple Pay options. Customers have responded positively with many using the new payment methods, along with a stronger response to previously available options like the updated easy AutoPay option. Thank you to Chartwell, Inc. for recognizing these changes we made in response to customer feedback with the 2025 Gold Award for Excellence in Billing and Payment. Making a better bill pay option is just one way we respond to customer feedback. We’ve introduced several new products, including managed business services like Wi-Fi and security cameras. We’re listening, so please keep sharing.
