We recently had the honor of welcoming Representative LaPointe (19th district) at Erie Humboldt Park Health Center and shared about our work throughout our 13 locations, soon to be 14. Erie representatives were able to highlight services like maternal child health and behavioral health services. We also had the opportunity to advocate for programs that support access to affordable medications and wraparound services. Thank you, Representative LaPointe, for vising Erie and for your commitment to improve access to healthcare services for everyone. #ValueCHCs

It's National Certified Nurse Midwife Week! This week, we honor the dedication and expertise of midwives everywhere — professionals who support safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care for mothers and babies. Midwives play a vital role in improving maternal health outcomes, advocating for reproductive rights, and empowering families worldwide. To every midwife: your work transforms lives. Thank you for all you do. 💙 #MidwiferyWeek #MaternalHealth

We were pleased to welcome Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL 9) back to Erie HealthReach Waukegan to discuss the impact of Medicaid cuts and the government shut down on Erie and community health centers across the country. We focused on how community health centers care for people in their own local communities, and prevent expensive ER visits and hospitalizations. Thank you, Congressman Schneider, for advocating on behalf of community health centers and the need for continued federal health center funding. #ValueCHCs #OneErie #HealthEquity

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Michelle Paucar, Health Policy Advisor, from Congresswoman Schakowsky's office for a tour of Erie Evanston/Skokie Health Center. Throughout the tour, Michelle met with several of our team members who shared about the important work they are doing to keep our communities healthy, from giving out books from the Reach Out and Read program, to distributing diapers, to training the next generation of healthcare providers. We are grateful to Congresswoman Schakowsky and Michelle's interest in learning how Erie is addressing and preparing for upcoming changes in the healthcare system. #ValueCHCs

Erie Family Health Centers mourns the loss of our dear friend and treasured Governing Board member Lisa Dykstra. In 2014, Lisa felt drawn to serve on our Board by her desire to make an impact in her own community when Erie was opening our health center in Evanston. Over the past decade, Erie's board and staff have benefitted from her thought leadership and expertise in health information technology strategy and operations. During her service as Chair of Erie's Board Quality Improvement Committee, she brought order and direction to our work and served as a trusted advisor. Simultaneously, she was a dedicated advocate for all people's right to access high quality, comprehensive, equitable healthcare. Her voice, expertise, and willingness to share both with Erie will be deeply missed. Lisa made a meaningful, positive mark in our Erie community and in our hearts.
