Despite growing awareness that climate risk is financial risk, most major firms in Europe have yet to embed internal carbon pricing into their decision-making. New analysis from The Conference Board Europe finds that fewer than one in five companies in the S&P Europe 350 currently report using an internal carbon price. Most companies that do apply a carbon price fall within a range of $60–$100 per ton of CO₂. Despite the talk Internal carbon pricing is still in early adoption! https://lnkd.in/eVCC5RBM Evi Angelidou ESGAUGE - ESG Intelligence & Analytics #Sustainability #CarbonPricing #ClimateRisk #CorporateGovernance #TheConferenceBoardEurope

📊 Nearly three-quarters of the S&P 500 (72%) now flag #AI as a material risk in their public disclosures. That’s up from just 12% in 2023, underscoring how rapidly AI has moved from experimental pilots to business-critical systems—and how urgently boards and executives are bracing for risks. Fresh ESGAUGE 2025 data shows most boards run director orientation and continuing education in-house (Russell 3000: 58.5%, S&P 500: 51.1%, S&P MidCap 400: 60.3%), while many S&P 500 companies also blend in-house with external resources (~47%). Outside-provider-only programs are a minority across indexes, and “no disclosed policy” is rare. To learn more about ESGAUGE’s data and research capabilities, reach out to me.

Workforce gender disclosure remains common in the United States—but it is no longer growing. In fact, this year, for the first time in many years, the review of CSR and Sustainability Reports shows a disclosure rate decline for several of these metrics. Among S&P 500 companies in 2025: - 69% disclose overall female representation (down from 83% in 2024) - 55% disclose women in management (down from 71%) - 47% disclose women on the board (holding steady) The TCB take: Even as investors continue to demand transparency, boards appear more cautious. DEI disclosure may be transitioning from a reputational “plus” to a compliance-driven baseline. What will happen as the SEC, EU CSRD, and state regulators expand reporting expectations? The latest ESGAUGE/Conference Board proxy season review paints a picture of recalibration: after 2024’s surge, shareholder proposals fell sharply across environmental, social and human capital topics, while companies filed a record 325 no‑action requests to challenge proposals that investors deemed too prescriptive. Activism campaigns declined even as proxy contests reached new highs, underscoring a shift toward targeted governance interventions and more selective investors.
