India takes a giant leap in the skies! The DRDO’s indigenously developed Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) has successfully completed a combat freefall jump from 32,000 feet, executed by Indian Air Force test jumpers. This achievement makes MCPS the only operational system capable of deployment above 25,000 feet, reinforcing India’s strength in high-altitude warfare and self-reliant defence technology. Developed by ADRDE Agra and DEBEL Bengaluru, the system is compatible with India’s NavIC navigation constellation and significantly reduces dependence on foreign equipment. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the successful test as a “significant milestone in indigenous defence capability,” while DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V.
