Meet Torie Partridge, a DC-based seller who creates iconic, colorful, hand-illustrated maps of cities and neighborhoods for her cleverly-named business, Terratorie. We had the opportunity to highlight Torie at Punchbowl News’ The Innovators event in Washington, D.C., where the business and journalism community come together to celebrate small business. Members of the Etsy team, including our Head of Global Public Policy and Advocacy, Jeffrey Zubricki and Corporate Communications Manager, Lynsey Jeffery also joined to share how we’re advocating to ensure small businesses have a seat at the table when policy decisions are made. Thanks so much to the Punchbowl team for organizing, and to Torie for sharing your amazing creations at this event!

This morning Etsy reported our first quarter 2025 results. “Etsy's first quarter 2025 financial results were aligned with our expectations, with solid adjusted EBITDA performance despite pressure on the top line,” said Josh Silverman, Etsy, Inc. Chief Executive Officer. “We're excited to see green shoots, particularly in our App metrics, indicating that our work to build deeper connections with buyers and encourage more frequent visits is taking hold. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning, we're creating a more inspiring and engaging app experience that provides us with richer insights to personalize Etsy in meaningful ways for each buyer. We believe our seasoned team is ready to drive the next phase of Etsy’s growth and success, and that our resilient two-sided marketplace business model can help us weather macroeconomic volatility.” To watch the full video earnings call, see investors.etsy.com.

During uncertain times, we stand by our sellers. 🧡 Etsy CEO Josh Silverman sat down with CNN’s Phil Mattingly at the Semafor World Economy Summit last week to discuss the state of small business today. Josh reiterated that Etsy will keep doing everything we can to support our sellers and advocate on behalf of their needs – from communicating the latest on trade policy to supporting tax reform and caregiving support for independent workers. It’s a simple fact: fostering employee growth is key to success. 🌱 Building a thriving workplace culture at Etsy starts with giving our people leaders the tools they need to develop themselves and their teams. One of these is our quarterly Leadership Labs:  intentional conversations designed to grow our people managers’ leadership skills.  Our first session of this year featured a fascinating conversation with Kim Scott, the acclaimed author of “Radical Candor,” moderated by our own Chief Marketing Officer Brad Minor. Kim & Brad discussed giving (and receiving) hard feedback, why empathy without challenge can be "ruinous," and what it really looks like to care about an employee. Thank you to our People & Workplace team for organizing, and to Kim for sharing your wisdom with Etsy!

Nick joined Carlos Gonzalez de Villaumbrosia of Product School to discuss Etsy’s evolution and how we work to drive growth through product innovation, like the new discovery experience we recently launched. 🔎🛍️✨ The episode dives into how we think about creating useful tooling that can help our sellers grow, and prioritizing the right projects to enable our community of 5M+ sellers and 90M buyers to thrive.
