  • The independent music community is at the heart of our brand. On Tuesday night, we hosted our first-ever "Off The Record" music event at Elsewhere with 60+ incredible guests, from venue owners to promoters, all gathering for a night of connection, conversation, and community. Thanks to our panelists Jeremy D. Larson (Pitchfork), Zoe Rae Williamson (United Talent Agency), and Alex Gleeson (Baby's All Right), and everyone who came out to the first NYC event!

Susie Nguyen started her journey with 626 Night Market as an attendee and volunteer before she became its Events Director. She says, "Seeing how many people’s lives we’ve been a part of is my proudest achievement. When we look at our overall Eventbrite check-in numbers at the end of the year, I’m amazed at how many people have come to our events just within 12 months. It makes me so happy and proud that 626 Night Market has now become a memory in their lives just like it was in mine when I first started going as an attendee." Welcome to a special #SmallBusinessWeek edition of “Small Business, Big Lessons.” To celebrate bold entrepreneurs and creative builders, we connected with Rami Haykal-Manning —co-founder and President of Elsewhere, a Brooklyn music venue known for its genre-bending programming and community-first ethos. 🎶 What if a venue was built for discovery—where each room offers a different sound, and the layout itself encourages you to explore? That’s the spirit Elsewhere was founded on. Here’s how Elsewhere is redefining what it means to run a modern music venue: 🎛 Culture without categories – Elsewhere invites curiosity and crossover. 💬 Fans as co-creators – Their Discord isn’t just a chat—it’s a feedback loop that helps shape programming and deepen community. 🙌 Loyalty, rewarded – Their newly revamped membership program (relaunching June 1) turns regulars into real insiders. As we celebrate #SmallBusinessWeek, we’re spotlighting the lessons that help creative founders thrive. Read the full conversation with Rami and explore how thinking differently can help your business grow with heart. #SmallBusinessWeek #CommunityInnovation #GenreDefying #ExperienceDesign

What happens when you mash two NYC It-Lists into one unforgettable party? A sold-out Cheese Rave in Brooklyn with hundreds of new friends. 🧀 🪩 When we launched It-Lists earlier this year, we had big aspirations for bringing in local tastemakers to hand-curate the most exciting things to do in their city. Last Thursday in Brooklyn we brought that vision to life, mashing up @thecarboholic’s NYC It-List to "Indulge Your Inner Cheese-Lover" and DJ Niyah’s NYC It-List of “DJ-Approved Dance Parties" to create the world’s first-ever Cheese Rave. To make a Cheese Rave, we transformed a Bushwick warehouse into an out-of-this-world party hosted by Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski. Hundreds of guests gathered beneath the illuminated cheese sculpture, danced to seven local DJs, and enjoyed personalized cheese tastings from Eventbrite organizer Metro Cheese Club’s cheesemongers. The event sold out twice, with more than 300 people on the waitlist. Thanks to everyone who came out to have a gouda time with us! What unexpected mashup should we explore next? #CheeseRave

A silent disco in an aquarium? Rock orchestras in gothic settings? These innovative experiences emerge when you find the perfect intersection of niche passion and mass appeal. 🎧🐠 For this month's "Small Business, Big Lessons," I spoke with nathan reed of MEGA Events/ Travel/ Music, who's mastered what I believe is the future of experience creation: hyper-specific concepts with massive scalability. What fascinates me most about his approach: ✅ "Niche is the new mass" - By creating standout formats for underserved subcultures, they've built global followings where fans attend 7-8 shows in a single tour! ✅ "Data constellations" - They validate creative concepts through multiple data points before scaling, balancing passion with pragmatism. ✅ "Specificity scales" - Their most successful ventures started with highly targeted concepts that could be replicated across continents. In today's crowded landscape, the brands that cut through are creating distinctive experiences that forge emotional connections with niche communities. What niche audience could your business connect with in a more meaningful way? The opportunity might be bigger than you think. 💭 #SmallBusinessBigLessons #ExperienceEconomy #EventStrategy #NicheToScale

  • In-person connection is what we live for. Last week, our Chief Marketing Officer, Samantha W., hosted 30 of our top event organizers at Milonga Room Speakeasy in Austin during SXSW to celebrate their success and our community. From connecting with old friends to sparking ideas for future collaborations, our attendees toasted the city's vibrant scene and culture over empanadas and amaro cocktails. Where should we gather next? 👀

🎧 Great DJs don’t just play music—they create unforgettable connections between people, places, and moments. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Ieanna Cruz—better known as DJ Umami —who has truly mastered this craft. Eventbrite recently tapped DJ Umami to curate our "Beats, Rhymes, and Culture Finds" It-List—your insider’s guide to San Francisco’s most cutting-edge events. And if you’ve ever been to Oracle Park you’ve probably felt her impact firsthand. As the official DJ for the San Francisco Giants, she doesn’t just set the vibe—she transforms the stadium into a fully immersive experience where music and sports collide. 🎵🏟️ One defining aspect of her artistry? Her belief that: 💡 “Reading the room IRL while leaving an undeniable signature on the set.” That balance—deep audience awareness and unapologetic authenticity—isn’t just about music. It’s the blueprint for any meaningful connection. 🚀 In this month’s edition of Small Business, Big Lessons, we’re diving into: ✅ Why flexibility + unwavering authenticity = lasting impact ✅ How amplifying others' visibility fuels your own success ✅ Why embracing unexpected opportunities often leads to the biggest breakthroughs What’s one unexpected opportunity that changed your path for the better? Drop your story in the comments—I’d love to hear how a twist of fate led to something great! 🚀
