Earlier this month, we were honored to have FareStart’s Meg Viera attend the #WJSummit25 be a part of an important conversation with other leaders about opportunity employers and the role they play to expand economic inclusion.
At #WJSummit25 in Seattle, local Washington businesses shared innovative approaches to creating fairer workplaces for justice-impacted job seekers by collaborating with community partners. “When it comes to this work, you don’t have to do it all. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and you should find partners to help you,” says Meg Viera, Senior Vice President of Social Enterprise at FareStart. Dedicated community-based organizations can provide services like mental health support, housing assistance, transportation, skills training, and more. Offering these essential supports to justice-impacted employees not only sets them up for success – it helps businesses access and retain skilled, motivated talent. Thank you—truly—for your generous gift during GiveBIG 2025. Because of you, FareStart students are reminded that change is possible. That their dreams are valid. That when you put your mind to something—and someone believes in you—you can build a new future. Your support is so much more than a donation. It's a demonstration of your faith in people working hard to transform their lives. People who may not have always seen their own strengths—but who now hear words like resilient, vibrant, determine, and capable spoken about them. And start to believe it’s true. Thanks to you, we raised over $166,000 to fuel job training, life skills and most of all—hope. You saw the good. You believed in possibility. And that makes all the difference. If you haven’t given yet and still want to give, you can donate to GiveBig through May 31: https://lnkd.in/g-h7jjT6 #GiveBig #ThatGivingFeeling #FareStart #JobTraining #WorkforceDevelopment

Our students and chefs loved every minute of it! 🧡 If you haven’t visited Itsumono in the International District, now’s the time to go. Go support them, try something bold and thank us later. Cheers to all our amazing guests, the rockstar Amazon volunteers who made the night run smoothly, and our generous sponsors: Griffis Residential, Kaiser Permanente, San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
