At Favor, we put a creative spin on team member growth through our self-made learning and development digital institution, Favor University! A pillar of Favor University is the Horizon Seminar series, which are thought-provoking, forward-thinking discussions about our market and industry. 👏 We recently offered a Horizon Seminar on the changing demographics of Texas hosted by Erika Prosper, Senior Director of Customer Insights at H-E-B and former first lady of San Antonio. Erika spoke about who Texans are becoming and what Favor should remain mindful of as we adapt and grow. The more we understand our Customers, Merchants and Runners, the more we’ll offer flavors that truly connect with them and meet their ever-changing food needs. Here’s a few insights from one of our tech leaders, Mike Lueders, Principal Software Engineer. 💙 What brought you to Favor? "I was looking for a company that offered the best of both worlds: a hybrid work environment.  After working remotely for several years, I missed the in-person connection with my team.  At the same time, I didn't want to go back to a company that was fully in-office. Favor's hybrid policy gives me the flexibility I need while still providing opportunities to collaborate with my team in person a couple of times a week." 💙  What do you value most about being a part of our engineering team? "The opportunity to work on a product that I personally use and value is incredibly rewarding.  It's a great feeling to know that the work I do directly impacts my own experience and the experiences of so many others.  On top of that, I get to work alongside a group of exceptionally talented engineers. We're a team that truly supports each other, and it makes all the difference." 💙  When you think about where we’re headed, what excites you the most? "Like many organizations, Favor is in the middle of a significant modernization effort. What sets us apart is the commitment to this initiative.  We're not just making small changes; we're actively breaking apart our legacy applications, which is a huge and exciting challenge.  On top of that, the organization is committed to constantly improving the developer experience.  This focus on both large-scale change and incremental improvements makes me incredibly optimistic about our future." Here in Austin, Favor and H-E-B team members proudly march in the Austin Pride Parade each August and attend a parade pre-party at the one and only Eastside Tech Hub! 🏳️🌈 Mikiee Adams, Fleet Support Specialist, enjoyed the 2025 parade with his husband, sister-in-law and her children, making it a fun, family event. Mikiee “loves that Austin Pride is later in the year because after enjoying all the other major Pride celebrations in other cities, you still have one more to look forward to.” At the pre-party, our CEO, Keith Duncan, shared a powerful message that resonates with our "community first" core value. Reflecting on the significance of the Stonewall riots, he reminded us that "courage equals progress and progress equals community and ultimately community equals love." His words captured the heart of Austin Pride: to celebrate the love within our community and actively drive progress.  💙
