AmbientSense Technologies emerged from the 2025 Crucible Ignitor program with a compelling plan to commercialize a NIWC Pacific technology: a smart sticker that detects corrosion before it becomes a costly problem. A competitive pitch at the program’s close earned them $20K in non-dilutive funding, and in just a few months, their sensor array has been prototyped, deployed, and tested aboard the unmanned USV Ranger. AmbientSense is one to watch, and an example of what’s possible with Crucible Ignitor. 🚀 Ready to launch your own venture through Crucible Ignitor? Hybron will have a booth at National Defense Industrial Association - (NDIA) Gold Coast in San Diego from 18-21 August! We’ll be on-site showcasing our breakthrough composite manufacturing technology, engineered for stronger, lighter, and corrosion-resistant components across critical naval systems. Stop by to see how we’re: - Adapting our high-performance composite artillery shell architecture for 5-inch naval munitions, enabling extended range and greater lethality. -Enabling rapid production of corrosion-resistant components, like propeller blades, radomes, and missile canisters for future naval systems using our advanced composite process. -Supporting fleet resiliency through rust-proof, U.S.-sourced, and scalable composite parts, delivered in minutes, not days. We’ve been honored to collaborate with NavalX, Inland Empire Tech Bridge and FedTech, and proud to have taken 2nd place in the FedTech Crucible Accelerator this past May. Excited to keep working alongside the Navy to solve hard problems at sea and ashore. Whether you're looking to solve a supply chain bottleneck or explore new capabilities, let’s connect. Come find our booth or reach out to our CEO, Brennan Lieu or Kyle Deck, our product development engineer, to set up a time to talk while we’re in town. See you in Austin! As we prepare for next week's accelerator in Tulsa, Oklahoma being hosted by BetaBlox/SigmaBlox 💯 💯 with participation from the Air Force Research Lab, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Department of Defense Innovation Unit, SOFWERX and many others, we reflect on our journey. In 2022, our team was introduced to various technologies with the potential for further development, underwater technology immediately stood out due to its immense potential impact on both the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) enterprise market and defense space. Through extensive stakeholder interviews, we identified critical challenges in underwater orientation, navigation, and communication. RelayNexus exists to investigate and bring together partners ready to extend feasibility testing. We want to say thank you to the National Security Innovation Network and the Fedtech team Ben Solomon Ayomide Aremu-Cole for providing an excellent experience with our 2023 cohort, preparing us for next steps .
