It was wonderful to join Chicago’s #AAPIHeritageMonth celebration from Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). For members of Ferrara’s own Heritage of Asian American Pacific Islander (HAAPI) Business Resource Group, the event was a natural extension of our mission to empower individuals and celebrate diversity within the Asian diaspora.

We think it’s pretty sweet when two iconic Chicago institutions partner to leverage century-old histories, and to look ahead toward the future of their industries. Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Illinois Speaker of the House Emanuel “Chris” Welch to Ferrara's Bellwood factory for a tour. Speaker Welch represents the district that is home to our Bellwood and Forest Park facilities, where we proudly employ more than 1,100 team members. It was a fantastic opportunity to show the Speaker firsthand the passion and hard work that goes into making some of America's favorite treats. At Ferrara, we’re deeply invested in the communities where we live and work, and we’re grateful for Speaker Welch’s leadership and partnership in supporting Illinois manufacturing and economic growth.

We believe education and collaboration can result in meaningful change. This Earth Month, Ferrara’s Sustainability Team is bringing engaging activities to our headquarters and facilities, sharing actionable practices around energy efficiency and waste management. Last week, we showcased our investments in innovation and community impact to IL 9th District State Rep Yolonda Morris and her team, touring our headquarters and Innovation Center and Forest Park manufacturing facility. Rep. Morris represents our The Old Post Office Chicago headquarters, with a workforce made up of marketing, corporate, innovation, executive and other imperative aspects of our business, as well as the hub of our Business Resource Groups. We look forward to continued collaboration with Rep. Morris and her team in our communities.

During #WomensHistoryMonth, Ferrara's Women Who Lead Business Resource Group welcomed YWCA Metropolitan Chicago's TechGyrls to see how science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics (STEAM) are critical to candy manufacturing. We’re proud to support the YWCA’s dedication to eliminating racism and empowering women, and inspire the next generation of women in STEAM.

Chicago’s #WomensHistoryMonth celebration honored the incredible women who help shape our communities and workplaces. Events like these from Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) remind us of the power of leadership, collaboration, and continuing to lift one another up—today and every day.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Suisun City supports the community in Jelly Belly’s back yard through food and supply drives, summer camps, emergency assistance and more. It was an honor for us to receive a commemorative bell, accepted by Retail Operations VP John Jamison, for Jelly Belly’s dedication to the Fairfield community – where we are proud to inspire sweetness with impactful social service partnerships.
