Proud to share some exciting news from Checkout.com. The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance has accepted our application for a Merchant Acquirer Limited Purpose Bank charter. Once approved, this charter will allow us to connect directly to card networks like Visa and Mastercard – reducing complexity, increasing speed, and delivering even stronger performance for our merchants in North America. I’m honored to lead this next phase as CEO of MALPB and Head of North America Banking for Checkout.com. This is a long-term investment in the region, backed by deep experience and a clear vision: to give every merchant the control, resilience, and innovation they need to grow. More to come soon. But today, I’m incredibly proud of the team who helped get us here. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/e5EUaZPP #WhereTheWorldChecksOut

At its core, Run it by the Buyers is about fast-tracking connections — giving scaling companies the chance to sit down with enterprise leaders who can unlock growth. It’s how we grow Atlanta’s fintech ecosystem into a well-oiled machine where innovation flows freely between startups and corporates. 🚀 First and foremost, thank you to The Home Depot for opening your doors and supporting this special edition. Huge appreciation to Scott Anderson, Matt Hysong, and Haley Hetrick for making it all possible. To our sponsors — Venturus and TOTVS — your commitment to innovation and growth in Atlanta fintech shines through. Thank you, Marcelo Monteiro and Fernando Cariello, for being such strong partners. 👏 Congratulations to our Sellers — Swoop, BOND.AI, SparkyAI! and VIVA Finance — for bringing bold solutions to the table. 🎓 Extra applause for the student pitch teams — TerraLedger 2.0, ArtiGen, and Purpose Payment — who brought incredible energy and ideas to the stage. And a special congratulations to Purpose Payment, this year’s $5,000 scholarship winner! We are deeply grateful for our partnership with the Georgia Fintech Academy. Collaboration is how we get things done, and we cherish working with Laura Gibson-Lamothe, whose dedication to rising talent in fintech careers is unmatched. And of course, this doesn’t happen without enterprise champions who see the opportunity and lean in. Leaders like Ali Raza, Marcelo Bernal, Chris Stanley, Jessica Jones and Qazi H. are helping shape a stronger ecosystem where startups and corporates work hand-in-hand. Finally — THANK YOU to all who attended, supported (Lily Wang), and cheered on this event. We can’t wait to see you at the next one. Here’s to an even bigger 2026! ✨

✨ Last night we hosted FinTech Atlanta’s second annual “Run It by the Buyers, Juniors” competition and the energy in the room at The Home Depot HQ was electric. This year, we received an overwhelming number of student submissions from across the University System of Georgia, making the selection process tougher than ever. 🏆 Congratulations to our 2025 Winner: Purpose Payment (The University of Georgia) – Saniya Bedi, Linzey Nguyen, and Kaveri Channappa, Co-Founders. Their vision for payments with purpose impressed the judges and earned them the top spot. 👏 Finalists who took the stage with outstanding pitches: 🌟 ArtiGen (Georgia Tech) – Siddharth Gangavarapu, Founder 🌟 TerraLedger 2.0 (Kennesaw State University) – Jesus Miguel De Alba, Founder 💡 With so many strong submissions this year, the judges had tough decisions to make. To every student team that applied: your creativity and ambition are what make this program so powerful. Not all could advance to the final stage, but your ideas are shaping the future of fintech. A huge thank you to everyone who submitted, participated, and supported this event. The next generation of fintech leaders is here, and they’re just getting started. 🚀 #NextGenFintech #FintechTalent FinTech Atlanta #GeorgiaFintechAcademy #RunItByTheBuyers Laura Gibson-Lamothe
