The Diary Of A CEO | FlightStory Studio

“Suddenly something you didn’t think much about becomes everything”. - Mary Claire Haver, MD The Diary Of A CEO hosted a women’s health debate this week to discuss PCOS, endometriosis, menopause, fertility - all subjects that impact a crazy 51% of the population, and yet are seriously under-researched. I gained so much from every part of this conversation - but what struck me personally? Every single woman at the table had been through baby loss. I’ve spent my life mapping out what I want to do next - the dream job, the house move, the wedding, and then something happens which was never part of the plan. Being part of the ‘1 in 4’ was never part of the plan. And your future self suddenly looks a little hazy.  I was told this year that it was all bad luck, that testing isn’t needed, and yet I’ve learnt from this one single episode the importance of pushing back and getting more answers. The importance of understanding our bodies so much more than we do. This time last year I would never have dared post something like this on LinkedIn, it felt ‘too exposing’. But that’s exactly part of the problem. We should always make space for these topics within any conversation, any room, on any platform. Because people need to feel less alone. We need to stop shrinking away from something that happens to so many people. After all, what we go through in our personal lives directly impacts how we show up at work and for others around us. So proud to work for a company who create space for conversations like this, and I hope all of the topics covered will go on to help so many.

    Guest Production Manager at FlightStory

Over 3 months at FLIGHTSTORY. Time really does fly. When I joined the pre-production team a few months back, I knew it would be an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the most talented people in the industry, and be immersed in such brilliant shows with Paul Carrick Brunson, Davina McCall and Dr Kristen Holmes PhD. But never did I imagine just how much we'd achieve in such a short period of time, and to say it has been a transformative few months would be a massive understatement. From hitting UK number 1 on numerous occasions and smashing new show milestones, to launching new creative projects and building new relationships - it's hard to believe how quickly this team moves. It truly feels like there are no limits to what the next 12 months hold. And that's what makes this team so special. Through all the hard work, there's always a win to share, always someone to learn from, and always friendships being built that I know will last well beyond these first few months. Couldn’t be more fortunate to be with such a talented bunch of people, and looking forward to even more fun and chaos over the next few months ahead!

Steven Bartlett Steven Bartlett is an Influencer

    Founder of FLIGHTSTORY and FLIGHTFUND

in 2017, I started a podcast in my bedroom that nobody listened to - that decision became the most consequential I've ever made. Here's my non-AI-slop advice for every creator... 1️⃣ The first thing... It's so cliché that it almost makes me want to cringe typing this, but honestly - the precursor to doing anything at a high level is creating what I call "the conditions to out-persist" 🐢 And the most critical condition to out-persist at something is enjoying the thing If you're not going to love it for 10 years, without the need for commercial incentive, there's a significant possibility you're not going to hang in there long enough to FAIL - LEARN - IMPROVE - GROW *Look at the graph below for a window into how long I podcasted before people showed up - for context In the last 90 days our growth trajectory has increased significantly - we added more new subscribers in the last 90 days (2 million±) than we had in the first 900 days!* Therefore, the first question one has to be: "Do I love this enough to give it a decade of my life?" Once you're an adult, you only get about 6 or 7 decades. Is this mission worth one of those precious decades? If so, all you need is time. If you don't, stop wasting it. 2️⃣ The second thing... TEAM, TEAM, TEAM Nothing will sway your outcomes more than WHO you choose to align with In business and in life: The best decisions you make will be people The worst decisions you make will be people Steve Jobs once said the product he was most proud of making was "THE TEAM" and I feel the same way I now have 100+ people behind me at FLIGHTSTORY who are truly the champions league of this industry - bound by obsession, detail orientation, and unapologetically hard-working to the point that you'd probably call us all toxic and we'd probably take that as a compliment 🤷🏽♂️ 3️⃣ The last thing... Don't take it all so seriously... As a creator, you exist in a constant storm of feedback - praise, criticism and advice, all of it coming at you 24/7 This sounds weird, but one of the most clarifying thoughts that's helped me deal with the feedback is realising that I'm going to die someday, and that day is relatively soon There's something about understanding that this is just a moment in time - accepting the paradox that your impact has very real consequences now, but at the same time, in the grand scheme of the grand scheme, you're going to be nothing more than a memory in a few loved ones minds - that liberates you from worry, thinking too much about others and enables you to do YOU with all of your heart Thank you for enabling me & 100+ of my team here in the UK to have a job we love just by tuning in and supporting us Today we're celebrating our community hitting 13m subscribers on Youtube! ❤️ P.S... if you're starting out, please just compare yourself today, to yourself yesterday! Thank god I didn't compare myself to Joe Rogan back in 2017... If I had, I probably would never have started.

    Building Flightcast with Steven Bartlett

Today, Steven Bartlett and I are finally launching Flightcast - the video-first podcast hosting platform. We’ve taken the tools that built The Diary of a CEO, and turned them into a software platform you can use. - You can upload video & audio everywhere (including Spotify!) in one click. - See all your data in one place (video+audio) instead of a bunch of dashboards. - AI transcriptions, titles, descriptions, chapters, etc. - AI Clips that auto-post to learn what highlights are best. - AI to chat with your data so you can actually understand what’s working. - Auto-sync an entire youtube channel to Spotify (forever) No more manual work, no more multiple dashboards, no more guessing. If you're running a podcast, or thinking of starting one, comment "I'm in." and I'll send you the link.

After going through THOUSANDS of video editor applicants, I couldn’t agree with this statement more 👇 “Short form is a science 👩🔬 and long form is an art 🧑🎨 but we're looking for someone who makes it both” Mollie Finn said this last week and it's really stuck with me. Short-form at FLIGHTSTORY is all about experimenting, tapping into psychology to make content that cuts through. Keeping people engaged and intrigued for more. BUT... We also tell stories through every piece of content, in ways that most people can't. Crafting moments that connect, pull people in, and take them on a journey that creates impact, not just entertainment. ...is this you? are you both a scientist AND an artist? passionate about making social content that connects, educates and inspires? We're hiring Social Video Editors. Apply now 🚨 FLIGHTSTORY | The Studio @ FLIGHTSTORY | The Fund @ FLIGHTSTORY 📍 Roles are full-time, based in our London HQ 👇 I've dropped the link to apply below - be quick! (P.S don't judge my canva skills 🥴 🤣)

Executive Studio Director @ FlightStory Studio (The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett, We Need To Talk with Paul C Brunson, Begin Again with Davina McCall, Science & Soul with Dr Kristen Holmes)

My biggest regret is I dropped out of college at 16 and took an internship working for Steven Bartlett At FLIGHTSTORY we talk a lot about paper walls. A wall that looks immovable, until you push on it and realise it was never made of bricks in the first place. Dropping out at 16 was my first paper wall. Everyone told me I couldn’t or shouldn’t. That without A Levels and a degree, there was no path into media. But I didn’t need another four years of waiting, I’d already spent years of nights in my bedroom editing videos for fun, learning by doing. What I needed to work better and faster wasn’t some permission far off in the future; it was a deadline, now. That’s what that first internship gave me. Two months after leaving college, I was running a team of five. I learned not by sitting exams, but by learning what our clients needed, by sometimes failing to deliver, iterating, and pushing on paper walls. Today, as we build We Need to Talk with Paul Carrick Brunson, Begin Again with Davina McCall and The Diary Of A CEO, that same principle still holds true: 👉 Most “rules” aren’t rules, they’re habits = Our shows are changing what it means to be a 'podcast' 👉 Most “timelines” aren’t physics, they’re tradition = We launch faster than anybody else 👉 Most “constraints” aren’t cement, they’re paper = Most of us are here despite somebody at some point telling us we couldn't be Start asking: What would it take? Start pushing on paper walls. So why is it my biggest regret? I wish I dropped out sooner.

Head of Failure and Experimentation at The Studio - Flight Story for Steven Bartlett & The Diary of a CEO

Steven Bartlett full named me on American morning TV?!!! 🫣 Steve is one of the only public figures I’ve seen that constantly gives credit and thanks to his team at every possible occasion. This man built a social media agency worth millions, is an investor in many successful companies and is the host of one of the world’s biggest podcasts with over 12 million YouTube subscribers but still doesn’t take the credit? He is the epitome of a selfless leader and it’s something that so many other leaders can learn from, whenever you can, remind your team how much they mean to you. It's not just a shoutout on TV that matters but it's the Slack messages of thanks out of the blue or the 'I'm proud of you' Whatsapp texts that make your team realise that they're making an impact. I don’t think I’ve publicly said this in the four years I’ve worked with Steve but thank you for everything you do for this team! We wouldn’t be here without YOU! ❤️

Do YOU want to decide The Diary Of A CEO's next guest? Then you're going to want to read this 👇 Every conversation, every revelation, every viral moment starts with one thing: who sits in the chair. It’s not random. It’s not luck. It’s STRATEGY. To create shows with this scale and influence, there needs to be someone who knows which voices the world needs to hear right now, and how to go out and get them. Is that someone you? We're currently hiring a Guest & Research Director at FLIGHTSTORY A seasoned pro who can define and level up the global guest & research strategy for ALL of our shows You'll be leading a world-class, one-of-a-kind guest & research team, securing a-lister guests that educate, connect and inspire The right person will know how to spot the thinkers, the leaders, and the icons before they break through. 🎙️ Director of Trailers for The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett 🍿 Previously Edited for Disney, Star Wars, Netflix and SKY 🎤 Speaker on everything Storytelling & Video Marketing

My mind was officially blown when I saw these two stats yesterday 🤯 I mentioned on the We Have a Meeting podcast that the journey with DOAC has been one of the most challenging as a career... BUT... challenge is only ever a good thing! Using imposter syndrome as a tool rather than a disease! The amount of effort, experimentation, and tiny details the team at FLIGHTSTORY put into their podcasts... out-caring so many other people... is the reason we now get to see incredible stats like these! I'll probably never feel 100% comfortable in my career, I i'll ever get to a stage where I feel like I've "completed" my skillstack as an editor... but that can only be a great thing! P.S: Making this Roman Yampolskiy trailer was so much fun! ❤️
