Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of welcoming clients, partners, and friends to our Hartford office for a special evening celebrating two major milestones: the grand opening of our new space and 100 years of Fuss & O’Neill! The event kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Kevin Johnson, with assistance from Kristen Solloway, Craig Lapinski, PE, LEED AP, Patricia Lozinski, and Anthony Oudorn, CPA, MSA — officially marking the start of our next chapter in Hartford. "This office location reflects not only where we are today, but where we’re headed. It positions us perfectly to support continued growth and innovation. One of my favorite things about not having an office is getting to be an active observer of engineers collaborating to solve problems and share knowhow. Here, Danny Chiburis is showing new hire Vincent Crudo the ropes of cost estimating forms as a fun bonus topic at 4:30 on a Thursday (after they wrapped up their drainage modeling assignment a little early)! I think this culture of rolling up our sleeves together is part of why the retention rate is high at Fuss & O'Neill.

Ronald Bomengen, PE, LEED AP recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for The Spark on Cedar in Newington, CT. When completed in 24 months, the site will include 232 Class A residential units, a parking garage, 2 courtyards, a swimming pool, a bark park, and a fitness center, all within walking distance to the Newington Fastrak Station. This is a brownfields site that Fuss & O'Neill has been working on for nearly 20 years. The groundbreaking was attended by members from CTDEEP, DECD, and Town of Newington Officials who were all excited to see this blighted property finally begin its transformation. Why "The Spark on Cedar"? The site was the previous home of The National Welding and Manufacturing Company. The name is an ode to the previous tenants of the property. During the remediation work, the sign in the image below was uncovered. They are looking to restore the sign and use it somewhere within the building. We are excited to announce that Fuss & O’Neill’s projects received FIVE awards at the Annual CREW CT Blue Ribbon Awards Gala. It was a great evening for the Fuss & O’Neill teams to be recognized for the exceptional work they do! Our new headquarters in Hartford received the award for best in class for new commercial space.
