35 years, four plant expansions, and thousands of parts later, Kevin Craig is retiring from our forge tooling company in Bad Axe, MI. When Kevin first started, the shop made everything from horseshoes to aerospace parts. Today, the company is North America’s #1 supplier of forge tooling, and Kevin has been part of that transformation. As a CNC hard lathe operator, Kevin programmed and ran thousands of tight-tolerance parts, serving as the front line of defense for quality and efficiency. His advice to the next generation: get your start on the floor, learn everything you can, and doors will open to engineering, quality, sales, and beyond. Team members from across Gemini Group came together to bring some Pixar energy to Caseville’s Cheeseburger Festival with our Cars-themed float in last week’s Parade of Tropical Fools. Afterward, the crew grabbed burgers at our very own Brad Breuss's "Brad’s Bangin’ Burgers" which he operates throughout the 10-day festival. Born and bred in the world of aluminum extrusion, the go-to-guy for maximizing run speeds, the one and only Ryan Hartman, has officially joined our team! Ryan has spent his entire 30-year career learning the ins and outs of aluminum extrusion—from production to plant management. Most recently he served as Extrusion Technical Manager, focusing on process control engineering, troubleshooting, and improving communication between the press and the die shop. Now he’s bringing that same boots-on-the-ground mindset to our customers as our newest Account Manager. He’ll spend most of his days in our customers’ plants collaborating on ways to solve production issues and improve operational efficiency. In his words: “You have to crawl before you can run. Well, I’ve done the crawling and can go in and get them running. The beauty for me is getting out there and seeing how other plants operate, playing in their sandbox, seeing how fast I can get their dies to run.” When he’s not working, you’ll usually find Ryan camping with his wife and their two dogs.
