Earlier today, General Mills - along with more than 60 companies in Minnesota - issued an open letter to call for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for local, state and federal officials to come together to find real solutions. For the past several weeks, representatives of Minnesota’s business community have been in close communication with the Governor, White House, local mayors and other officials to foster progress. I know this is a difficult moment for our community. But I also know there is a path forward towards better.

This morning, we honored and celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the 36th annual MLK Holiday Breakfast in the Twin Cities. This year’s event theme was “Make a Career of Humanity,” inspired by Dr. King’s message – “Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in."
